Established in 2019, Protection without Borders league (POWIB) is an independent youth-led non-governmental organization which operates by principle of non-discrimination, transparency in rendering specialized services, responses and assistance to individuals and families in need. POWIB provide services and assistance in the areas of Child Protection, Health, Education, Gender Based Violence (GBV), Counter-trafficking, Countering Violence Extremism (CVE), Capacity Building of CBOs and CSOs, peacebuilding, data collection and analysis, humanitarian and development research and analysis. Response is delivered due to the negative impact of conflict in affected communities while paying specific attention to the most vulnerable among the affected populace.
The organization is looking forward to recruit a Security Advisor willing to work within the tenets of the humanitarian and organization’s guiding principles and policies.
Job Title: Roving Security Advisor
Location: Borno (Maiduguri)

Duration: 6 months
Job Description:
- Establish and maintain an active information network, which includes NGOs, the UN, military forces and other national and international security actors to obtain credible and relevant safety information.
- Provide the organization with timely and credible information and contextual analysis of the local security situations through daily incident alerts, weekly incidents list and bi-weekly analytical report.
- Facilitate and lead regional NGO community security round table.
- Assist the organization in developing their own security management capacities by reviewing policy documents, conducting site security survey and assisting in crisis evacuation planning.
- Manage a small office team, including supervision national staff and oversight of local logistics and administration.
- Effectively represent, promote and protect he organization’s mandate of independence, impartiality and neutrality.
Requirement and Qualification:

- Bachelors’ degree or higher, preferably in social science, security, conflict and resolution studies or a related field or an equivalent work experience
- Demonstrable understanding of humanitarian safety practices and principles and their application
- Exceptional aptitude in problem-solving and critical thinking.
- Highly skilled in interpersonal communication, both written and oral.
- Strong computer coding and endpoint security skills
- Excellent technical skills for building security architecture aligned with the humanitarian requirement and organization’s policies.
Experience:
- A minimum of 3-year experience in related field
- Experience in insecure/conflict affected environment
- Experience with NGO security and/or project management
