We are recruiting to fill the position below:

Job Title: LGA Community TB Mobilisation and Testing supervisor/officer.

Area of Proposal Interest: TB/HIV community mobilisation Supervisor in Kuje and AMAC Area Councils: Abuja (FCT)

Employment Type: (Hybrid)

Overview: The Community TB mobilisation and Testing supervisor/officer is responsible for supervising community TB Volunteers, develop weekly/monthly workplan, track referrals and submit monthly report to organisation and donor. He or she collaborates and work closely with staff and other stakeholders in the project.

Job Responsibilities

  1. Community mobilisation:  Develop and implement strategies to mobilize communities within the LGA for TB awareness campaigns, ensuring maximum participation and engagement for testing.
  2. Training and Capacity Building: Conduct training sessions for community volunteers and other stakeholders on TB prevention, detection, and treatment, ensuring they are equipped with accurate information and skills to disseminate within their communities.
  3. Collaboration: Collaborate with local health authorities, NGOs, community-based organizations, and other relevant stakeholders to leverage resources and coordinate TB control efforts effectively.
  4. Advocacy: Advocate for increased access to TB diagnostic and treatment services within the LGA, including advocating for the integration of TB services into existing healthcare structures and programs
  5. Community Engagement: Facilitate community meetings and other platforms to engage community members in TB-related issues, address misconceptions, and promote positive behavior change towards TB prevention and treatment-seeking.
  6. Supervision: Supervise and provide guidance to community mobilizers and volunteers involved in TB awareness and mobilization activities, ensuring adherence to established protocols and standards

QUALIFICATIONS/REQUIREMENTS

  • An experienced CHEW, Nurse and bachelor’s degree in health, Social Sciences, Community Development, or a related field.
  • Proven experience (at least 2-3 years) in community mobilization, health promotion, or related fields, preferably with experience in TB control programs
  • Excellent communication, interpersonal, and facilitation skills.
  • Ability to work effectively with diverse stakeholders, including community leaders, healthcare professionals, and government officials.
  • Ability to work independently and as part of a team in a dynamic and challenging environment.
  • Candidates must have a personal laptop.
  • Ability to communicate effectively in writing.
  • Must have excellent organization skills and be able to work under pressure to meet deadlines.
  • Strong attention to detail, with a quality-focused mindset.

Remuneration

  • Monthly Salary + data bundle (Negotiable)
