Job Title: Finance / Admin Intern
Location: Maiduguri, Borno

General Description of Role
- The purpose of this role is to provide Finance/administrative support for the office in line with CATAI policies, International and Nigeria Labour Law, donor requirements, and Nigerian laws.
- Under the training and supervision, by the Admin and Finance Manager, the intern(s) is (are) expected to work very closely with other staff in the field and office to process any required documents in support of project, program or administrative activities and contribute to the effective administrative duties and give support to the field office where necessary.
Key Responsibilities
- Ensure scrutiny of the entire bill for accuracy and receipt of goods before process for payment.
- Assist in documentation, preparation of cash disbursement voucher for all cash transactions related to the station office.
- Ensure all transactions are in compliance with CATAI accounting policy, Donor restriction and generally accepted accounting principles.
- Maintain confidentiality of all financial and other job related information.
- Ensure proper documentation and filing of all financial documents.
- Prepare and process day to day financial transactions and implement internal control procedures in keeping with CATAI policies and procedures.
- Assist in the collection of financial needs for the office each week
- Ensure proper documentation and filing of all financial documents.
- Collects credit tax receipts from FIRS.
- Support the Admin and Finance Manager in general functions.
- Facilitate vendors registrations, processing of documents and prepare necessary documents.
- Oversee the maintenance and updating of the inventory register.
- Ensure timely reservation, flights bookings and other support services for staff.
- Prepare and file documents for signature and/or action, as necessary and ensure that proper filing systems are in place for the office.
- Prepares and Maintains records of all outstanding purchase orders with external vendors and arranges transportation and forwarding services for all orders to ensure delivery on schedule.
- Prepare reports on personnel financing and ensure that reporting requirements are fulfilled in an accurate and timely manner.
- Perform other duties as may be assigned by your supervisor
Required Educational Qualification, Experiences, Technical Skills and Language Competence
- A Degree in Business / Public Administration or related field.
- One (1) year of experience working knowledge in Finance administration.
- Highly developed interpersonal and communication skills including good listening skills, influencing, negotiation and coaching.
- Capacity to build and maintain relationships and to work effectively in a multicultural and multi-ethnic environment respecting diversity.
- Experience with Microsoft Word, Excel, PowerPoint and Outlook.
- Fluency in English with excellent writing and speaking skills is required.
- Possess the ability to handle Finance and Administrative Routines.
