The U.S. Mission to Nigeria comprises of the Embassy in Abuja, FCT, and the Consulate General in Lagos. U.S. Consulate General Lagos is the Mission’s representative to the Nigerian people in the southern region.

We are recruiting to fill the position below:

Job Title: Administrative & Clinical Clerk – Employees of Mission – All/or USEFMs, EFMs or MOHs

Summary

Duties

  • Incumbent support Health Unit personnel in executing the Department of State Medical Program to complete tasks that are administrative in nature, but benefit from clinical knowledge.
  • Maintaining pharmacy records and ordering medications, reviewing storage areas and preparing unusable items for destruction or sale, tracking both American and Local Staff chronic disease follow-up programs, tracking bio-threat supplies and medications, supporting admin assistants, clinicians, nurses and laboratory technicians in daily activities.
  • The position is directly supervised by the Office Manager/Admin Assistant of the Health Unit.  

Qualifications and Evaluations
Education Requirements:

  • Completion of Secondary School or high school diploma is required. 

Experience:

  • 2 years of experience in a setting requiring customer service responsibilities and prior work with medical records or handling of private, confidential information, or in clinical field is required.

Job Knowledge:

  • Knowledge of and ability to recognize medical names and dosing is required.

Evaluation:

Skills and Abilities:  

  • Proficiency in typing and operating word processing equipment is required. Ability to learn and effectively use database software to include a variety of web-based State Department inventory management and data collection programs is required.
  • Effective communication skills, strong organizational skills and ability to prioritize among multiple tasks at one time is required.
  • Absolute confidentiality with respect to all clinical information is required.
  • Strong social skills to encourage positive attitudes to the medical unit by a wide variety of persons, both local and American is required.

Agency Benefits:

  • Locally Employed Staff, including Members of Household (MOHs), and Third-Country Nationals (TCNs), working at the U.S. Mission in Abuja, Nigeria may receive a compensation package that may include health, separation, and other benefits.
  • For EFMs, benefits should be discussed with the Human Resources Office.
  • The pay plan is assigned at the time of the conditional offer letter by the HR Office.
