Africa Youth Growth Foundation (AYGF) is a regional non- Governmental Organisation established in April 2003 and registered in July 2006 with the Corporate Affairs Commission, Abuja, Nigeria. AYGF has an operational base in British Columbia Canada, Texas USA, and Nigeria (Kogi state, Niger State, Sokoto State, Katsina State,Edo State and the FCT- Abuja). Over the years the Organisation has implemented several projects that addressed issues around migration, Public Health, Education, Democratic Governance, livelihood, Climate Change and Environment.

We are recruiting to fill the position below:

Job Title: Program Manager

Location: Benin, Edo
Employment Type: Full-time

Job Purpose

  • Oversees all aspects of an ongoing program, from its development to implementing program activities.
  • Ensures program is completed to a consistently high standard, within budget, that objectives are met on time, suiting the company’s image and objectives.
  • Makes sure the program meets professional standards and industry regulations.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities
Strategic Planning and Implementation:

  • Develop and implement strategic plans for the malaria impact project in alignment with organizational goals and priorities.
  • Oversee the planning, budgeting, and execution of project activities to ensure effective utilization of resources.
  • Provide leadership and guidance to program staff to ensure the achievement of project objective

Partnerships and Collaboration:

  • Build and maintain strategic partnerships with government agencies, donors, NGOs, and other stakeholders to leverage resources and expertise for project implementation.
  • Represent the organization in relevant forums, conferences, and meetings to advocate for malaria control and elimination efforts.

Monitoring, Evaluation, and Learning:

  • Establish and maintain a robust monitoring and evaluation system to track project progress, outcomes, and impact.
  • Analyze project data and findings to identify areas for improvement and facilitate learning within the organization.
  • Ensure the dissemination of project results and best practices to relevant stakeholders through reports, presentations, and publications.

Resource Mobilization and Fundraising:

  • Lead efforts to mobilize resources and secure funding for the malaria impact project through grant proposals, donor meetings, and other fundraising activities.
  • Work closely with the finance team to ensure proper financial management and accountability for project funds.

Capacity Building and Technical Assistance:

  • Provide technical assistance and capacity-building support to project staff, partners, and stakeholders to enhance their knowledge and skills in malaria prevention and control.

Qualifications
The ideal candidate should have:

  • B.Sc / BA in Public Health, Business Administration, Health Sciences, Behavioral Sciences or its recognized equivalent with 8 years of relevant experience with international development programs.
  • Or M.Sc / MA Degree in Public Health, Business Administration, Health Sciences, Behavioral Sciences, Reproductive Health, Nutrition, Nursing, Food Sciences or its recognized equivalent with 3 – 7 years’ relevant experience with international development programs.
  • Demonstrated success in multicultural environments is an advantage.

Skills / Competencies:

  • Knowledge of health and development programming in a developing country.
  • Basic accounting and financial management skills.
  • Working knowledge of major donor policies (Global Fund) as well as international not-for- profit organizations.
  • Sensitivity to cultural differences and understanding of the political and ethical issues surrounding health related issues.
  • Proven ability to coordinate a multi sectorial development project.
  • Ability to organize systems to monitor administrative and implementation results.
  • Report to supervisor on variances and status on regular basis.
  • Work independently with initiative to manage high volume work flow.
  • Perform detail-oriented work with a high level of accuracy.
  • Interact with diplomacy and tact and follow-up on requests in timely and efficient manner.
  • Use a computer to accurately and rapidly enter and retrieve data and information.
  • Excellent written, oral and interpersonal communication skills with ability to work as a team member.
  • Ability to plan and prioritize own work under tight deadlines, as well as to work on own initiative and as a member of a team.
  • Ability to travel a minimum of 25%.
