MyItura, a healthcare technology company is a subsidiary of TechBeaver IT Systems that specializes in remote health testing where individuals request for all kinds of medical tests, get tested and access their results from the comfort of their homes. MyItura has a pool of well trained staff responsible for the collection of various samples for testing at partner laboratories and a pool of in-house doctors who communicate test results and carry out online medical consulting services and tele-medicine.

Introduction
- This document outlines the Terms of Reference (TOR) for a Phlebotomist at MyItura who will be responsible for collecting samples from clients in various locations within Lagos, Nigeria, ensuring the proper transfer of samples to the laboratory, and returning the test results to clients.
- The Phlebotomist will possess excellent people skills and maintain a reassuring demeanor while interacting with clients.
Responsibilities
The Phlebotomist will be responsible for the following tasks:
Sample Collection:
- Collect blood and other relevant specimens from clients in various locations within Lagos, including homes, clinics, or other designated areas, using appropriate phlebotomy techniques.
- Ensure compliance with established protocols and safety standards for sample collection.
- Maintain a high level of professionalism, empathy, and a reassuring demeanor while interacting with clients during the sample collection process.
- Properly label and document collected samples to maintain accurate records and traceability.
Sample Transfer:
- Safely and securely transport collected samples to the laboratory, following proper handling and transportation procedures to prevent denaturation or degradation of samples.
- Utilize appropriate storage and transportation conditions (e.g., temperature control, specimen integrity) to ensure samples remain in optimal testing condition during transit.
- Coordinate with laboratory staff to schedule sample pickups and deliveries efficiently.
Result Delivery:
- Collaborate with laboratory personnel to process samples efficiently and prioritize urgent cases, ensuring timely testing and result generation in the shortest possible turnaround time.
- Maintain strict confidentiality and accuracy while handling test results and related information.
- Communicate test results to clients promptly and in a professional and empathetic manner, addressing any questions or concerns they may have.
- Facilitate the distribution of physical or electronic copies of test reports as per established protocols.
Qualifications and Skills
The Phlebotomist should possess the following qualifications and skills:
- Relevant education and certification as a Phlebotomist or equivalent.
- Demonstrated experience in phlebotomy techniques, specimen collection, and transportation.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills to interact effectively with clients and colleagues.
- Strong organizational skills to manage sample collection schedules, prioritize tasks, and meet deadlines.
- Attention to detail and accuracy in sample labeling, documentation, and result delivery.
- Knowledge of relevant safety and quality standards in phlebotomy and laboratory practices.
- Ability to handle stressful situations with a calm and reassuring demeanor.
- Willingness to travel between sample collection sites.
Compliance and Safety:
- The Phlebotomist must adhere to all relevant policies, procedures, and regulations, including those related to sample collection, transportation, confidentiality, and safety.
Equipment and Supplies:
- MyItura will provide the necessary equipment, supplies, and transportation arrangements for sample collection and transfer. The Phlebotomist shall be responsible for ensuring the proper handling and maintenance of equipment and supplies.
Performance Evaluation:
- Regular performance evaluations will be conducted by the designated supervisor to assess the Phlebotomist’s performance against key responsibilities and goals outlined in these Terms.
Remuneration
N60,000 monthly.
