Job Title: LGA Community TB Mobilisation and Testing supervisor/officer.
Area of Proposal Interest: TB/HIV community mobilisation Supervisor in Kuje and AMAC Area Councils: Abuja (FCT)
Employment Type: (Hybrid)
Overview: The Community TB mobilisation and Testing supervisor/officer is responsible for supervising community TB Volunteers, develop weekly/monthly workplan, track referrals and submit monthly report to organisation and donor. He or she collaborates and work closely with staff and other stakeholders in the project.
Job Responsibilities
- Community mobilisation: Develop and implement strategies to mobilize communities within the LGA for TB awareness campaigns, ensuring maximum participation and engagement for testing.
- Training and Capacity Building: Conduct training sessions for community volunteers and other stakeholders on TB prevention, detection, and treatment, ensuring they are equipped with accurate information and skills to disseminate within their communities.
- Collaboration: Collaborate with local health authorities, NGOs, community-based organizations, and other relevant stakeholders to leverage resources and coordinate TB control efforts effectively.
- Advocacy: Advocate for increased access to TB diagnostic and treatment services within the LGA, including advocating for the integration of TB services into existing healthcare structures and programs
- Community Engagement: Facilitate community meetings and other platforms to engage community members in TB-related issues, address misconceptions, and promote positive behavior change towards TB prevention and treatment-seeking.
- Supervision: Supervise and provide guidance to community mobilizers and volunteers involved in TB awareness and mobilization activities, ensuring adherence to established protocols and standards
QUALIFICATIONS/REQUIREMENTS
- An experienced CHEW, Nurse and bachelor’s degree in health, Social Sciences, Community Development, or a related field.
- Proven experience (at least 2-3 years) in community mobilization, health promotion, or related fields, preferably with experience in TB control programs
- Excellent communication, interpersonal, and facilitation skills.
- Ability to work effectively with diverse stakeholders, including community leaders, healthcare professionals, and government officials.
- Ability to work independently and as part of a team in a dynamic and challenging environment.
- Candidates must have a personal laptop.
- Ability to communicate effectively in writing.
- Must have excellent organization skills and be able to work under pressure to meet deadlines.
- Strong attention to detail, with a quality-focused mindset.
