Belgian Red Cross-Flanders (BRC-FL) is part of the worldwide Red Cross movement. BRC-FL is looking for a Project Manager in Kyiv that will act as Country Representative and will set up a new partnership and projects with Ukrainian Red Cross Society.
We are looking for a person with experi-ence in humanitarian aid project management and an interest in business development.

Job Description

The Project Manager represents BCR-FL towards the Ukrainian Red Cross Society (URCS), donors and other humanitarian actors in the field. You report directly to one of the regional Program Managers, and will work in close cooperation with the staff and volunteers of the Ukrainian Red Cross Society.

In your role as Project Manager, will be responsible for the general project management of the bilat-eral project between BRC-FL and URCS which focuses on research, war risk education and response to unexpected crises. Besides the project management tasks, you will assist in the legal and operational set-up of the URCS research center and support URCS in the further commercial development of their First Aid unit to make it self-sufficient . For both targets, you will work in close collaboration with URCS staff. With regard to the research center set-up, specific support will be provided by the BRC-FL Center for Evidence-based Practice in Mechelen. Next to your tasks related to business development, you

BRC-FL counts on your skills in the following areas: project planning and management, communication, detailed financial follow-up, stakeholder management and representation of BRC-Fl in Ukraine, business development and commercialization. End-to-end accountability as a technical project manager is a key driver to success.

Your profile

  • University degree at master level in sciences or economics.
  • Knowledge of medical sciences, first aid, blood banking, logistics and/or data management is a plus.
  • A minimum of three years of business development experience is required.
  • A proven track record in a result-oriented environment is a plus.
  • Fluency in English is a must, both spoken and written.
  • Knowledge of Dutch and French is an asset.
  • Knowledge of Ukrainian is a nice-to-have.
  • Prior experience in humanitarian aid is a plus.
  • A mindset and knowledge to implement projects based upon evidence-based practice or a strong motivation to do so is expected.
  • You work in a structured and methodical way and are stress resistant.
  • You have a thorough knowledge of the most common software and online tools (e.g. MS Office: Word, Excel, Outlook, PowerPoint,…).
