The Ability Life Initiative is engineered to bridge the gap for persons with disabilities in Nigeria. The Ability Life Initiative (TALI) aims to achieve optimal health, end discrimination, and advance the fundamental rights of persons with disabilities. To achieve our goal of bridging the gaps for persons with disabilities, TALI assists bi-lateral and multi-lateral organizations to implement effective strategies, that create solutions for health, housing, and education and end discrimination against persons with disabilities. Women and Girls with Albinism Network (WGWAN) in partnership with The Ability Life Initiative (TALI) is organising a one-day awareness campaign on Albinism in Abuja in October 2023.Â
Purpose
- The main purpose of the consultancy is to develop Information, Education and Communication (IEC) materials and make technical practical presentations during the one-day albinism awareness workshop.
Methodology
- There will be review meetings to ensure that the IEC materials and any other content are in line with WGWAN and TALI’s identity and requirements. This assignment is expected to be carried out for 30 days. The consultant is expected to start no later the September 14th, 2023.
Key Output / Deliverables
- IEC Materials on Albinism including skin care regimens Technical briefs for presentation
Institutional Arrangement:
- The Consultant will report directly to the Executive Director – WGWAN who reports to Co-Founders of the Ability Life Initiative (TALI) all relevant information and support necessary for the assignment.WGWAN shall also be responsible for the coordination of meetings and other activities under the Consultancy.
Requirements, Qualifications and Professional Experience
- The Ideal candidate must have a B.Sc in Sciences and any related field Must reside in Abuja Knowledge of disability programming in Nigeria is a plus A master in sciences or a related field is a plusExperience producing graphic and interactive IEC materials.
Skills and Competencies:
- At least 3 years of Experience doing similar work High-level written and oral communication skills in EnglishEvidence of having undertaken similar assignmentsExperience in research and programming-related work
