Evidence Action launched formally in 2013 to scale programs with sustainable business models that have been proven to be effective so that they benefit millions of people. Evidence Action leads and manages two programs incubated by Innovations for Poverty Action: Dispensers for Safe Water and the Deworm the World Initiative. We also run Evidence Action Beta where we are currently testing a number of other rigorously-evaluated interventions for scale-up.

Description

This position will support the Deworm the World (DtW) program implementation in Lagos state. Working closely with the Senior Program Manager South West zone, the Volunteer will support and contribute to the smooth execution of program activities in the state while contributing to other assigned zonal related tasks and duties.

The Volunteer will be a fast learner and flexible individual who is able to multi-task and complete assigned tasks timely. S/he will have strong interpersonal skills, and a good team spirit to function well in a matrix environment.

Duties and responsibilities

  • Support program related meetings and training at all levels
  • Support the smooth implementation and roll-out of the program activity cascade during each round of school deworming in Lagos state.
  • Documentation of program meeting and training reports and communications such as success stories, case studies etc.
  • Maintain close attention to detail to ensure that program timelines are adhered to and all milestones such as training, meetings, and distribution of materials are supported on time.
  • Work collaboratively with other team members – operations/ logistics, finance, and MLE to resolve program related requests such as training needs requests, failed payments etc.
  • Support timely collation, validation and submission of treatment data after each program activity in the state.
  • Support the state team with timely retirement of all deworming activity, deliverables and payments in Lagos state.
  • Perform any other program related duties and tasks as may be required and assigned by the Senior Program Manager.

Qualifications

  • HND or Bachelor’s degree in any related field
  • 1-2 years’ related work experience
  • Excellent organizational and time management skills;
  • Must be a fast learner with strong multitasking ability
  • Strong oral and written communication skills;
  • Attention to detail;
  • Team spirit
  • Flexibility and adaptability to changing workloads
