We are recruiting to fill the position below:
Job Title: Volunteer – Monitoring, Evaluation, Research and Learning (MERL) Officer


Location: Remote

Job Summary
 The MERL Officer will be responsible for developing and maintaining a comprehensive
MERL framework for all ongoing and future projects.
 Collect, analyze, and interpret data to measure program effectiveness.
 Ensure data quality and accuracy through regular reviews and validation.
 Prepare reports, dashboards, and visual representations of findings.
 Collaborate with teams to make data-driven recommendations for program improvement.
 Develop and manage databases for data storage and retrieval.
 Manage and maintain an up-to-date database of beneficiaries, project activities, and
indicators.
 Collaborate with project managers to develop effective log frames, indicators, and data
collection tools.
 Lead the process of data collection, including surveys, interviews, focus groups, and other
research methodologies.
 Engage in various research studies and ensure that the knowledge generated is utilised to
inform programme focus and adaptation.
 Facilitate knowledge-sharing sessions and learning events within the programme.
 Collaborate with programme teams to identify learning needs and opportunities for
improvement.
Required Experience & Skills
 At least two (2) years or more experience in a MERL department is preferred.
 Diploma or Degree in Statistics, Information Technology, Computer Science and
Informatics or a related field is an added advantage.
 Excellent knowledge of MS Office and related media packages.
 Strong analytical skills with proficiency in data analysis software (e.g., Excel, SPSS, or
statistical software).
 Ability to carry out data analysis with Tableau, SPSS, ArcGIS is an added advantage.
 Excellent research, communication and presentation skills.
 The ability to work both independently and as part of a team.
 Ability to multitask and manage multiple projects within tight deadlines.
 A passion for community empowerment, development and innovation.
Time Requirement:
 10 -15 hours per week.
Remuneration
 Please note that this is a volunteer position and will not offer monetary compensation at
this time, as our organization is in its initial stages. However, successful candidates will
have the invaluable opportunity to gain significant knowledge and experience that can
serve as a steppingstone in their career path
 As our organization grows and secures funding, there may be potential for paid
