Job Title: Verification Officer

Job Summary
- We’re seeking an experienced Loan Verification Officer with a strong Internal Control background to join our team.
- The successful candidate will be responsible for verifying loan applications, ensuring compliance with lending policies, and maintaining the integrity of our loan portfolio.
Key Responsibilities
- Verify loan applications and supporting documents for accuracy and completeness.
- Conduct field visits to verify borrower information and collateral.
- Ensure compliance with lending policies, procedures, and regulatory requirements.
- Identify and report potential risks or irregularities in loan applications.
- Collaborate with loan officers and other departments to resolve issues and improve processes.
- Maintain accurate records and reports on loan verification activities.
- Perform other related duties as assigned.
Requirements
- BSc / HND in Accounting, Banking & Finance, Economics or related discipline
- 2-3 years of experience in a similar role, preferably in a microfinance bank or financial institution.
- Strong background in Internal Control and risk management.
- Excellent analytical and problem-solving skills.
- Strong communication and interpersonal skills.
- Ability to work independently.
