Duties
- Under the direct supervision of the Telecommunications Supervisor, incumbent is responsible for the programming, installation, operation, and maintenance of post telephones, PBX systems, residential internet services, MPLS circuit connecting post telephone and radio repeaters to six tail sites, structured LAN (Local Area Network) cables and other telecommunications equipment. Incumbent is the Primary customer support for all telephone issues and assists with programming and installation of VHF/HF Radios.
Requirements
Qualifications and Evaluations:
- Experience: Minimum of two years experience in telecommunications (Radio/Telephone) commercial sector is required.

Job Knowledge:
- Experience in Nortel/Avaya, Cisco, Panasonic, VoIP systems, and Local Area Networking is required. Must know how telecommunication voice and data signaling enters the building; how wiring is arranged on a punch down block; fiber optic cable installation, distribution of wiring throughout the building; ability to test and correct faulty circuits.

Education Requirements:
- Minimum of two (2) years studies at a vocational or technical college in electrical, mechanical, computer or telecommunications is required.

Skills And Abilities:
- Must have excellent numerical skills to carry out measurement of lengths, distances, elevation of azimuth angle, etc.
- Must be able to work independently to resolve stressful and unforeseen situations. Must be able to utilize and calibrate a wide range of test equipment and use a myriad of hand power tool.
- Must be able to lift weights (up to 25 kg) and climb heights of up to 120fts with due regard to workplace health and safety standards. Must be able to work in difficult, sometimes dirty and cramped conditions.
- Must be able to communicate courteously with customers, both direct hire and local staff. Must have valid and clear Nigeria driver’s license.
