Job Title: Team Lead, Network Administration

Location: Lagos

About the role

  • Network Operations and Security is responsible for overseeing the day-to-day performance, reliability, and security of the organization’s network infrastructure. 
  • This role combines technical expertise with leadership, guiding a team of engineers to ensure secure, efficient, and resilient network operations across on-premises and cloud environments.

Responsibilities

  • Manage enterprise LAN, WAN, and VPN for on-premise and cloud networking infrastructure.
  • Drive process improvement and documentation standards for networking and security operations.
  • Ensure the uptime, reliability, and optimal performance of all enterprise network components.
  • Oversee configuration, patching, and lifecycle management of networking hardware (firewalls, switches, routers).
  • Manage ISP/vendor relationships and service-level agreements (SLAs).
  • Enforce network security policies and controls across all systems
  • Management and implementation of firewall rule management, IDS/IPS monitoring, and security incident responses.
  • Ensure compliance with financial regulatory frameworks ISO 27001, PCI-DSS.
  • Coordinate and manage the network operations and network security engineers: assigning tasks, providing guidance, and conducting performance reviews.
  • Configuration and implementation of network monitoring tools.

Requirements

  • 3–5+ years of experience in network engineering and/or security roles within the fintech, payments, or B2B financial services industry.
  • Implementation and configuration of network devices, IDS/IPS, and firewalls.
  • Strong incident and change management skills.
  • Good understanding of TCP/IP, VLANs, VPNs, BGP, OSPF networking protocols.
  • Experience with tools like Cisco, AWS, Microsoft Azure, Oracle and Google networking (VPC, TGW, NACLs, SGs), and security monitoring tools.
