Seven-Up Bottling Company Limited is one of the largest manufacturing companies in Nigeria, producing and distributing some of the nation’s most- loved beverages in the country like; Pepsi, 7Up, Mirinda, Teem, Mountain Dew, H2oH!, Lipton Ice Tea and Aquafina premium drinking water. SBC has recently entered into Home & Personal Care category with the 2SURE brand and launched its first product, a Hand & Surface Sanitizer. Seven Up boasts of nine bottling plants with state-of-the-art manufacturing facilities strategically located across various regions in the country.

We are recruiting to fill the position below:

Job Title: Sustainability Specialist

Location: Nigeria

Position Overview

  • You will be responsible for clearly articulating key performance indicators (KPIs) an targets relating to Environmental, Social, and Governance (ESG).
  • Additionally, you will play a pivotal role in driving continuous improvement by tracking, documenting, and measuring ESG KPIs.

Responsibilities

  • Implement Sustainability Strategies: Collaborate with Plant management to implement and support the stainability strategies initiated at HO and adapt them to plant based solutions and industry best practices.
  • Sustainability Impact Assessment: Conduct regular sustainability assessmentsand audit of the plant’s environmental impact, including energy consumption, water usage, waste generation, and greenhouse gas emissions. Measure performance and identify areas for improvement.
  • Data Analysis and Reporting: Analyse ESG data and prepare detailed monthly reports on key performance indicators (KPIs) to track progress towards sustainability goals.
  • Carbon Footprint Management: Support operations to estimate plant GHG emissions from owned operations, procured electricity and supply chain (Scope 1,2 & 3) and champion levers for decarbonization.
  • Regulatory Compliance: Stay abreast of environmental regulations and ensure plant operations comply with all applicable laws and standards. Prepare necessary documentation and reports for regulatory agencies.

Requirements

  • Bachelors or Masters degree in sustainability, environmental science, business administration, or a related field.
  • Proven experience (3 – 5 years) working in a sustainability-related role, preferably in a manufacturing environment
  • In-depth knowledge of sustainability principles, frameworks, standards, and best practices (e.g., UN Sustainable Development Goals, Global Reporting Initiative, LEED, ISO 14001)
  • Strong understanding of environmental, social, and economic issues and their interdependencies. Strong skills in MS Excel, PowerPoint, Word and power BI.
  • Demonstrated ability to develop and implement sustainability strategies and initiatives.
  • Familiar with relevant sustainability reporting frameworks (e.g., GRI, CDP, SASB, IFRS SI & S2), materiality assessment and GHG accounting.
  • At least 2 years’ experience in Sustainability Reporting using global reporting standards.
