Centre for Community Development and Research Network (CCDRN) is a local Non-governmental organization (NGO) in Nigeria with its head office in Kaduna. CCDRN partners with communities, philanthropists, government and donors to provide sustainable community development services in the areas of conflict resolution, peace building, economic empowerment, agriculture, health, education as well as governance. With funding from humanitarian donors for programs to engage in several interventions including but not limited to food assistance, livelihoods, cash transfers and capacity building of humanitarian response actors.
We are recruiting to fill the position below:
Job Title: State Program Manager
Location: Katsina
Employment Type: Full-time
Job Purpose
- The CCDRN State Program Manager for Katsina is responsible for the overall coordination, implementation, and monitoring of CCDRN’s programs and activities across Katsina State.
- They will provide strategic leadership and ensure effective project delivery in line with the organization’s objectives, donor requirements, and best practices.
Key Responsibilities
Program Management and Coordination:
- Oversee the planning, implementation, and monitoring of all CCDRN programs and activities in Katsina State.
- Ensure alignment of program activities with the organization’s strategic plan, project work plans, and budgets.
- Coordinate the work of the units leads and other field staff to achieve program objectives.
- Identify and address implementation challenges proactively, and implement corrective measures as needed.
- Maintain regular communication with the Project Director and Senior Management team, providing updates on program progress, challenges, and successes.
Team Leadership and Capacity Building:
- Provide direct supervision and support to the units leads and other key program staff.
- Conduct regular team meetings to review progress, coordinate activities, and foster teamwork and collaboration.
- Identify training and capacity-building needs of program staff and work with the HR department to facilitate relevant learning opportunities.
- Promote a positive and enabling work environment that encourages innovation, learning, and professional development.
Monitoring, Evaluation, and Reporting:
- Oversee the development and implementation of robust monitoring and evaluation (M&E) systems for CCDRN programs in Katsina.
- Ensure the timely collection, analysis, and reporting of program data and performance indicators.
- Work closely with the M&E team to generate and disseminate regular progress reports for the Project Director, donors, and other stakeholders.
- Contribute to the identification of lessons learned and best practices in program implementation.
Stakeholder Engagement and Partnerships:
- Establish and maintain strong working relationships with key stakeholders in Katsina, including government authorities, community leaders, NGOs, and other relevant actors.
- Represent CCDRN at stakeholder meetings, forums, and other relevant events.
- Promote collaboration and partnerships with other organizations working in Katsina to maximize program impact and avoid duplication of efforts.
- Advocate for the organization’s programs and priorities with relevant stakeholders.
Financial and Administrative Management:
- Ensure proper financial management of program funds allocated to Katsina, in accordance with organizational policies and donor regulations.
- Review and approve field-level expenses, ensuring compliance with budget lines and financial procedures.
- Maintain accurate records of program activities, expenditures, and other relevant documentation.
- Contribute to the development of annual work plans and budgets for Katsina programs.
Other Responsibilities:
- Contribute to the development and revision of program documents, tools, and resources as needed.
- Support the identification and mitigation of potential risks to program implementation.
- Perform any other duties as assigned by the Supervisor and Senior Management team.
Requirements
- Master’s degree in a relevant field, such as Development Studies, Public Administration, or Project Management.
- At least 7 years of experience in program management, with a strong track record of successful program implementation in the development sector.
- Demonstrated experience in leading and managing multi-disciplinary teams, with a focus on capacity building and performance management.
- Excellent knowledge of project management principles, monitoring and evaluation, and reporting.
- Strong stakeholder engagement and partnership-building skills, with the ability to navigate complex political and social environments.
- Proficient in financial management, budgeting, and compliance with donor regulations.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to represent the organization effectively.
- Fluency in English and Hausa languages.
- Willingness to travel to project sites and work in a fast-paced, challenging environment.
