Job Title: State Business Development Manager

Location: Onitsha, Anambra
Employment Type: Full-time

Job Description

  • Our client is a Fintech Microfinance Bank with head office in Lagos but with robust operations in Onitsha, South East and branches in key cities of Nigeria.
  • They presently seek to recruit strategic and result-oriented State Business Development Manager to lead and drive business growth in Anambra State.
  • The ideal candidate will be responsible for market expansion, revenue growth, key account management and state team leadership.
  • This role requires a deep understanding of the local market, strong leadership skills, and the ability to drive strategic initiatives that align with company goals.

Responsibilities

  • Develop and execute the business development strategy for Anambra State in alignment with overall company goals.
  • Identify and pursue new market opportunities, channels, and partnerships across the state.
  • Manage and expand a portfolio of key clients and strategic accounts.
  • Build and maintain strong relationships with stakeholders, local partners, community leaders, and government agencies.
  • Lead market research and competitor analysis to inform sales strategies.
  • Monitor performance metrics and prepare regular reports on sales performance and market trends.
  • Recruit, train, and manage a high-performing local sales or agent network (if applicable). Ensure full compliance with regulatory and operational standards across all field activities.
  • Represent the company at local events trade shows, and industry forums.

Requirements

  • Bachelor’s degree in Business Administration, Marketing, or a related field. MBA is an added advantage.
  • Minimum of 5 years’ experience in sales, business development, or territory management, preferably within Anambra or the South-East region.
  • Strong experience in POS terminal transactions, merchant and agency banking.
  • Must have at least 500 agents, merchants and aggregators to convert within the first 2 weeks.
  • Proven track record of achieving sales targets and growing market share.
  • Strong understanding of the local business environment and customer landscape.
  • Excellent communication, negotiation, and relationship-building skills.
  • Self-motivated, results-driven, and able to work independently.
  • Proficient in Microsoft Office Suite and CRM tools.
  • Ability to travel within the state as needed.
  • Must currently live in Onitsha or Awka

Competency and Skill Requirements:

  • Candidate must be computer literate
  • Must be passionate about the useof digital platforms.
  • Analytical and presentational skills.
  • A very high level of commercial awareness.
  • Leadership skills.
  • Excellent communication and organizational skills.
  • Attention to details.
  • Fluency in Igbo is a strong advantage.
  • Experience working in FINTECH, banking, sectors is desirable.

Benefits

  • Salary: N150,000 Monthly.
  • Incentive: N500k for meeting POS deployment target
