Job Description
- We are looking for a skilled and dedicated Sous Chef to join the culinary team.
- The successful candidate will support the Head Chef in managing kitchen operations, ensuring food quality, supervising kitchen staff, and maintaining cleanliness and safety standards.
- This position demands culinary expertise, leadership abilities, and a passion for delivering top-notch dishes consistently.
Key Responsibilities
- Assist the Head Chef in daily kitchen management and meal preparation
- Supervise and coordinate kitchen staff activities to maintain efficiency
- Ensure food quality, presentation, and portion control meet restaurant standards
- Oversee inventory, ingredient ordering, and proper storage practices
- Maintain strict hygiene and safety standards in the kitchen
- Train and mentor junior kitchen staff to develop their skills
- Collaborate with front-of-house teams to ensure smooth service flow
- Manage kitchen equipment maintenance and cleanliness
- Assist in menu planning, recipe development, and food costing
- Report kitchen performance and any operational issues to the Head Chef
Requirements
- Culinary degree or certification preferred (OND, HND, or Degree in Culinary Arts, Hospitality, or related fields)
- 3–4 years of experience as a Sous Chef or similar role in a restaurant or hospitality environment
- Strong leadership and team management skills
- Excellent knowledge of food preparation, hygiene, and safety standards
- Ability to work effectively under pressure in a fast-paced setting
- Attention to detail and high standards for food quality and presentation
- Strong communication and organizational skills
- Professional and neat appearance
- Reliable, proactive, and committed to excellence
- Reside in Abuja, preferably within or near Wuse 2
