Job Description

  • We are looking for a skilled and dedicated Sous Chef to join the culinary team.
  • The successful candidate will support the Head Chef in managing kitchen operations, ensuring food quality, supervising kitchen staff, and maintaining cleanliness and safety standards.
  • This position demands culinary expertise, leadership abilities, and a passion for delivering top-notch dishes consistently.

Key Responsibilities

  • Assist the Head Chef in daily kitchen management and meal preparation
  • Supervise and coordinate kitchen staff activities to maintain efficiency
  • Ensure food quality, presentation, and portion control meet restaurant standards
  • Oversee inventory, ingredient ordering, and proper storage practices
  • Maintain strict hygiene and safety standards in the kitchen
  • Train and mentor junior kitchen staff to develop their skills
  • Collaborate with front-of-house teams to ensure smooth service flow
  • Manage kitchen equipment maintenance and cleanliness
  • Assist in menu planning, recipe development, and food costing
  • Report kitchen performance and any operational issues to the Head Chef

Requirements

  • Culinary degree or certification preferred (OND, HND, or Degree in Culinary Arts, Hospitality, or related fields)
  • 3–4 years of experience as a Sous Chef or similar role in a restaurant or hospitality environment
  • Strong leadership and team management skills
  • Excellent knowledge of food preparation, hygiene, and safety standards
  • Ability to work effectively under pressure in a fast-paced setting
  • Attention to detail and high standards for food quality and presentation
  • Strong communication and organizational skills
  • Professional and neat appearance
  • Reliable, proactive, and committed to excellence
  • Reside in Abuja, preferably within or near Wuse 2
