Job Summary

  • The incumbent will manage and supervise vessel, yard, resource, and berth planning activities with a strong focus on safety, quality, productivity, and optimal utilization of staff, equipment, and space. 
  • Additionally, review and develop both short- and long-term operational strategies in collaboration with peers and senior leaders, ensuring effective execution, monitoring implementation, and evaluating outcomes to drive continuous improvement.

Responsibilities
Main Responsibilities (Shift Management):

  • Lead and Motivate Team: Manage, guide, and motivate the planning team to achieve high productivity and effective resource utilization.
  • Task and Goal Management: Organize priorities, structure tasks, and ensure daily operations are executed efficiently.
  • Data Integrity: Ensure all planning system data is accurate, up-to-date, and reliable.
  • Stakeholder Collaboration: Maintain strong relationships and communication with internal teams, vendors, and customers.
  • Performance Management: Define performance criteria and conduct regular performance reviews in coordination with operations leadership.
  • Training Coordination: Oversee operator training programs in consultation with equipment coordinators and direct managers.
  • KPI Reporting: Generate and review key terminal performance indicators (weekly, monthly, and YTD).
  • Strategic Contributions: Support the development and execution of strategic initiatives to enhance terminal operations.
  • Talent Development: Ensure personal development plans are in place and implemented for all direct reports.
  • Process Improvement: Continuously seek improvements in operational processes, methods, and measurement tools.

Main Responsibilities (Planning Manager):

  • Team Leadership & Operations: Manage and motivate the planning team, set priorities, structure tasks, and drive efficient daily execution to maximize productivity and resource utilization.
  • Data & Performance Management: Ensure planning system data integrity, establish performance criteria, and regularly review team performance.
  • Training & Development: Coordinate training programs to certify the team and implement personal development plans for all team members.
  • Stakeholder Engagement: Maintain strong relationships with internal departments, customers, and vendors through active collaboration and support.
  • Continuous Improvement: Contribute to strategic initiatives and drive ongoing improvements in processes, methodologies, and performance metrics.

Requirements
Who We Are Looking For:

  • Bachelor’s Degree in Logistics, Operations Management, or related discipline.
  • 5 years of previous experience in the port execution operations.
  • 5 years of previous leadership experience involving on the operation departments or administrative sector managing large number of workers.
  • Good knowledge of terminal operation, efficiency, and resource management. Overall knowledge of Port and Terminal industry.
  • Requires good verbal and written communications skills in English and the local language.
  • Has familiarity with the strict implementation of procedure, process and best practices in Planning, Gate operation and stevedoring operations.
  • Requires good interpersonal skills to interact across section of the company’s departments, at all levels, and with customers.
