We are recruiting to fill the position below:

Job Title: Shift In-Charge Engineer (Electrical)

Location: Gujeni, Kaduna
Employment Type: Full-time

Job Purpose

  • Responsible for executing electrical instrumentation maintenance activities (planned, unplanned, and breakdown) to ensure smooth operation of equipment.

Key Responsibilities

  • Troubleshoot, inspect, test, maintain, repair, and calibrate instrumentation and control equipment.
  • Repair or replace control devices like switches, sensors, transmitters, and motor starters.
  • Modify control logics in PLC/DCS systems and handle weigh feeders and belt weighers.
  • Service, calibrate, and install pneumatic, hydraulic, and motorized valves.
  • Install and maintain control and measurement instruments on plant equipment.
  • Use test equipment like oscilloscopes, multi-meters, and HART communicators for diagnostics and calibration.
  • Conduct regular inspections and prepare reports on plant instrumentation.
  • Develop and implement preventive and predictive maintenance procedures.
  • Ensure all instruments and automation components are in safe working condition.

Requirements
Skills and Qualifications:

  • B.eng/ B.Sc or HND in Electrical, Electronics, Instrumentation, or Control Engineering.
  • 10+ years of experience in O&M, project execution, and commissioning in steel manufacturing (beneficiation and pellet processes).
  • Expertise in reading electrical drawings, P&I diagrams, and handling instruments like FT, PT, LT, solenoid valves, and control valves.
  • Knowledge of automation systems (PLC, DCS, servers, switches, I/O racks).
