Job Title: Senior Turner
Location: Odogunyan Ikorodu, Lagos

Reports to: Production Manager/Team Leader
Job Summary
- We are seeking an experienced and skilled Senior Turner to join our production team.
- The successful candidate will be responsible for operating turning machines to produce high-quality components and parts.
Key Responsibilities
- Machine Operation: Operate turning machines, including CNC and manual lathes, to produce components and parts to specified tolerances and quality standards.
- Programming and Setup: Program and set up turning machines, including writing and editing CNC programs, and adjusting machine parameters to optimize production efficiency and quality.
- Quality Control: Inspect and test components and parts to ensure they meet quality and tolerance standards, and make adjustments to machine settings as needed.
- Maintenance and Repair: Perform routine maintenance and repairs on turning machines, including cleaning, lubricating, and replacing worn or damaged parts.
- Team Leadership: Lead and mentor junior turners, providing guidance and support to ensure they are trained and equipped to perform their duties safely and efficiently.
- Production Planning: Assist with production planning, including scheduling and prioritizing jobs, and allocating resources to meet production targets.
- Health and Safety: Ensure compliance with health and safety regulations and policies, and participate in safety audits and risk assessments.
Requirements
- Candidates should possess an SSCE / GCE / NECO qualification with 2 – 4 years work experience.
- Apprenticeship or Equivalent Experience: Completion of a recognized apprenticeship program or equivalent experience in a turning or machining environment.
- CNC Programming Skills: Proficiency in CNC programming languages, such as Fanuc or Siemens.
- Manual Machining Skills: Experience with manual machining techniques, including turning, milling, and drilling.
- Quality Control and Inspection: Knowledge of quality control and inspection techniques, including measurement and testing.
- Leadership and Mentoring Skills: Experience leading and mentoring junior staff, and providing guidance and support to ensure they are trained and equipped to perform their duties.
