Job Title: Senior Relationship Officer
Locations: Akure – Ondo and Ilorin – Kwara
Summary

- The Senior Relations Officer is responsible for managing the collection process, focusing on high-value accounts and complex cases.
- The role involves direct interaction with clients, analysis of payment trends, and the development of strategies to reduce default rates and recover outstanding payments on financed assets.
Key Responsibilities
Collection Strategy & Management:
- Develop and implement effective collection strategies to ensure timely recovery of payments.
- Lead the team in executing collection plans and achieving set targets.
Client Interaction:
- Engage with clients to negotiate payment plans and resolve disputes.
- Conduct regular follow-ups on overdue accounts through calls and face-to-face meetings.
- Handle escalated cases and complex client issues with professionalism and tact.
Risk Assessment & Mitigation:
- Assess the creditworthiness of clients and potential risks associated with the financed assets.
- Recommend repossession of assets when necessary.
Reporting & Documentation:
- Prepare and submit regular reports on collection activities, delinquency rates, and recovery outcomes to senior management.
Team Leadership & Training:
- Provide guidance and support to junior collections officers and ensure the team is well-trained on collection techniques and policies.
- Lead team meetings to discuss challenges, share insights, and develop collective strategies for improvement.
Relationship Management:
- Build and maintain strong relationships with clients and external collection agencies
- Act as a point of escalation for complex or sensitive client issues.
Requirements
- Bachelor’s degree in any field.
- Minimum of 4 years’ experience in loan recovery or collections (Financial Services, Fintech, Leasing & Asset Financing, Insurance, Retail & Consumer Credit).
- Interpersonal and Negotiation Skills
- Knowledge of financial and non-financial agreement processes
- Excellent oral and written communication skills
- Ability to work both independently and in a team
