Job Description

  • A leading marine logistics service provider is seeking a highly organized and proactive Senior Purchasing Coordinator to lead and manage the purchasing team, ensuring the timely and efficient procurement of goods and services for local and international operations. 
  • The successful candidate will support vessel operations, manage backlog performance, coordinate with various departments, and ensure alignment with corporate procurement strategies using Oracle ERP systems.

Key Responsibilities

  • Lead and supervise the purchasing team to ensure effective management of purchase requests (PRs) and purchase orders (POs), with a focus on backlog reduction and timely delivery to vessels.
  • Implement and optimize the purchasing follow-up process, ensuring clarity and efficiency in procurement workflows.
  • Coordinate the tendering and contracting process, propose new tenders, and update existing contracts.
  • Manage invoice processing in accordance with company payment terms (45 days post-invoice receipt).
  • Monitor and improve procurement KPIs including air/sea delivery ratio, PR/PO backlog, frame agreement coverage, and lead times.
  • Conduct regular weekly reviews with ship managers and buyers, documenting actionable insights and maintaining follow-through.
  • Ensure alignment of local suppliers’ products and services with client expectations, while achieving best value procurement outcomes.
  • Provide support and guidance to the team through training, performance appraisals, and regular engagement.
  • Maintain accurate order status records and manage NCR (Non-Conformance Report) closures through supplier corrective actions.
  • Ensure Oracle ERP system operations are current, organized, and efficient.
  • Act as backup for team members during absences to ensure continuity of operations.

Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s degree in Supply Chain Management, Procurement, Business Administration, or a related field
  • 5–7 years of experience in a similar role, ideally within the marine logistics or oil and gas industry
  • Strong understanding of Oracle ERP systems and procurement best practices
  • Proven leadership, organizational, and analytical skills
  • Excellent negotiation, communication, and stakeholder management abilities
  • Experience in both local and international purchasing, including tendering and contracting.
