Job Summary
- The Senior Project Engineer will lead and oversee the engineering aspects of large-scale oil and gas projects from concept to completion.
- This role involves coordinating multidisciplinary teams, ensuring projects are delivered on time, within budget, and in compliance with all safety and quality standards.
- The Senior Project Engineer will be a key liaison between internal teams, contractors, and clients to ensure project objectives are met efficiently and effectively.
Main Responsibilities
Project Planning & Execution:
- Develop detailed project plans, including timelines, budgets, and resource allocations.
- Lead the engineering design and technical execution of projects, ensuring alignment with project objectives and regulatory requirements.
- Manage changes in project scope, schedule, and costs, and communicate these changes to relevant stakeholders.
Team Leadership & Coordination:
- Oversee and coordinate the activities of multidisciplinary engineering teams (civil, mechanical, electrical, process).
- Mentor and provide technical guidance to junior engineers and team members.
- Facilitate regular project meetings and ensure effective communication among all project participants.
Technical Expertise:
- Provide technical leadership in the design, analysis, and execution of complex engineering tasks.
- Review and approve engineering designs, drawings, and specifications.
- Ensure all engineering activities comply with industry standards, best practices, and company policies.
Risk Management & Compliance:
- Identify and mitigate project risks, including safety, environmental, and operational risks.
- Ensure compliance with all applicable local, state, and federal regulations.
- Implement and oversee safety protocols and ensure all team members adhere to safety standards.
Client & Stakeholder Management:
- Serve as the primary point of contact for clients and stakeholders throughout the project lifecycle.
- Prepare and present project status reports, technical documents, and progress updates to clients and management.
- Manage client expectations and address any concerns or issues that arise.
Cost Management & Optimization:
- Monitor project expenditures and ensure alignment with the approved budget.
- Identify opportunities for cost savings and efficiency improvements.
- Oversee procurement activities, including the selection of vendors and negotiation of contracts.
Educational Qualification & Skills
- Bachelor’s Degree in Engineering (Civil, Mechanical, Chemical, or related field); a Master’s degree is a plus.
- 8+ years of experience in project engineering within the oil and gas industry, with a proven track record of managing large-scale projects.
- Professional Engineer (PE) license preferred.
- Strong knowledge of industry standards, regulations, and best practices (e.g., API, ASME, OSHA).
- Proficient in project management software (e.g., Primavera P6, MS Project) and engineering design tools (e.g., AutoCAD, HYSYS).
- Excellent leadership, communication, and interpersonal skills.
- Ability to work under pressure and manage multiple priorities
