Job Overview
- This Senior Programme Manager IAG will drive several critical functions and priorities across the IAG Global team and wider IAG network. Working in close collaboration with the project coordinator and technical leads, he/she will lead project management and operational functions for the IAG network.
- This includes developing and implementing advisory projects with the IAG global team and promoting and leading the ongoing development of IAG network-wide operations functions (e.g., systems, processes and capacity around project management, stakeholder management, communications, Monitoring, Evaluation, and Learning, etc)
- This is a role for an experienced and strategic thinker, someone with excellent operational and program delivery know-how who is willing to deliver and get things done, as well as supporting and enabling others in the wider IAG network.
Based:
We welcome applications from those with the right to work in a CBM Global country, including Indonesia, Nepal, Bangladesh, Laos, Burkina Faso, Philippines, Zimbabwe, Kenya, Nigeria, and Madagascar. Remote working is welcomed. Ideally, the candidate can work at least part of their working day with overlap with both Australia and Central Europe.

Responsibilities and Duties
The role will:
- Lead end-to-end project development and management functions for IAG Global team projects, working in close collaboration with the relevant technical lead and project coordinator.
- Ensure that all contract outputs are being delivered to a high standard (including progress reports, financial reports, KPIs, and deliverables) and to support project delivery (e.g. drafting project plans, budgets, and terms of reference).
- Ensure operational setup is compliant with the client and relevant CBMG requirements.
- Support organizational growth strategies by ensuring quality project design, implementation, and continuous learning.
- Facilitating communication among a program’s cross-functional team.
Relationship management
- Support developing and managing IAG global client and partner relationships.
- Understands how to incorporate safeguarding into good quality programme design and to address client safeguarding requirements.
- Ensure IAG global team projects deliver high-quality work, consistent with the IAG approach and demonstrating our key value propositions for clients.
- Build and maintain positive relationships with the clients, and delivery partners, including the disability movement and other stakeholders as required.
Business Development
- Identify opportunities to promote IAG and explore opportunities for future work.
- Directly support the development of IAG global team proposals, including identifying and appraising opportunities, managing proposal development processes, and directly supporting budgeting, risk appraisal, compliance elements, etc.
- Monitor and update business development resources for the wider IAG network, including, for example, scoping and budgeting guidance, track record, etc, and promote their use.
Project Finance and operations
- Oversight IAG Global team and IAG network-wide budget and reporting for CBM Global.
- Develop and manage IAG global team project budgets and regularly update the project forecast to ensure project spend is on track and ensure financial reporting to the client is accurate and compliant with requirements.
- Oversee or manage subcontracting processes for IAG Global team-led contracts.
- Identify risks and opportunities to the commercial success of IAG projects that you are involved in.
IAG Global network coordination and management systems
- Provide IAG Global programme level leadership – coordinating and managing inter-dependencies across individual projects of the IAG global team and wider IAG network portfolio.
- Maintain and improve project support and management systems to support project delivery, oversee their implementation, and support the effective use of these across the IAG network.
- Providing strategic guidance and coaching to wider CBM Global project managers and operations staff involved in securing and managing their local IAG projects.
- Support implementation of CBMG Safeguarding guidance and culture across the Federation through IAG activities.
Key outcomes expected from this role
- IAG global team projects are managed on time and within scope and budget, in collaboration with the project technical lead.
- High level of engagement and strong working relationships with internal and external stakeholders to deliver IAG projects.
- Project management systems, processes, and partnerships are developed, maintained, and utilized to coordinate, manage and report on IAG projects across the IAG network.
Person Specification

Experience and knowledge
- A minimum of five years of experience managing both small and large client-funded programs with a variety of back-end donors
- Experience working in a relevant development-related environment such as a consultancy, NGO, or donor.
- Strong understanding of managing donor or client funding (ideally from headquarter through to local sources)
- Demonstrated experience leading client relationships from a project management perspective.
- The lived experience of disability is an advantage*
- Experience in developing project and operations guidance and tools and supporting their effective use, including through on-the-job coaching and other capacity development.
- Experience working on projects around diversity and inclusion is an advantage.
Skills/competencies/personal qualities
- Strong interpersonal and communication skills and experience managing multicultural teams.
- Excellent problem-solving and management skills.
- High standard of both spoken and written English. Other languages are an advantage.
- Strong financial management skills and ability to prepare and work with annual and whole-of-program budgets, forecasting, and financial data.
- Ability to manage competing priorities, show initiative and work calmly under pressure.
- Willingness to contribute to team culture and work plan, built around collective accountability, and engaging at different activity levels as needed to “get things done”.
- A high degree of competence with Microsoft Office products (Word, Excel, and PowerPoint infographics in particular).
Qualifications, training, and education
- Education to degree level, ideally Masters level in International Development and/or Project Management.
- Experience and/or qualification using different project management methodologies and tools*
