Job Title: Senior Accountant

Job Summary
- Support and coordination of the finance department, group projects, and reporting within the group.
Main Responsibilities
- Assists with the day-to-day running of the finance department.Â
- Preparation of Intercompany schedules for monthly & annual reporting.Â
- Preparation of customer invoices – TMSA, APL, and reconciliation of its related ledgers.Â
- Prepare Intercompany & OPC invoices and reconcile their related ledgers.Â
- Ensure filing of statutory returns e.g. VAT, WHT, CIT are accurate and submitted on time.Â
- Prepare schedules for PAL & SYNERPET management reports – bank reconciliations, fixed assets schedules, accruals, prepayments, etc.Â
- Maintenance of GL accounts on Navision, monthly reconciliation of all balance sheet GL accounts.
- Ensure company assets are accurately accounted for and well monitored.Â
- Ensure tax compliance in transactions processing on daily transactions.Â
- Follow established policies and procedures to make judgments/decisions.Â
- Act as backup to the Accounts payable officer when absent or unavailable.Â
- Any other duty as requested by management.
Educational Qualifications, Certifications & Technical Skills
- University Degree in Accounting or Finance or a related field from an accredited university.Â
- ICAN/CFA/ACA/CIMA/ACCA is compulsoryÂ
- 3-5 years of relevant experience in a similar roleÂ
- Proficient in the use of the Microsoft Office suiteÂ
- Use of financial and accounting software applicationsÂ
- Proficiency in Corporate Accounting Practice/Standard Auditing Practices along with expertise in budget analysis and identification of varianceÂ
- Knowledge of cost accounting, management, and accounting standardsÂ
- Knowledge of statutory provisions concerning tax management & planningÂ
- Conversant with federal and state financial regulation, applicable laws, codes, and regulations.Â
- Good understanding of the oil and gas industryÂ
- Ability to multitask and manage conflicting deadlines and tight schedulesÂ
- Must exhibit a high level of personal and professional integrityÂ
- Good Team player who goes beyond job requirementÂ
- Good relationship-building and networking skills.
