Role Overview
- We are seeking a proactive and detail-oriented Senior Accountant to join our Finance team.
- This role is responsible for the timely preparation of monthly management accounts, budgeting, variance and cost analysis, and reconciliation of financial and cost accounts.
- The ideal candidate will provide critical insights to support strategic decision-making and ensure robust financial control within the business.
Key Responsibilities
Budgeting & Variance Analysis:
- Assist in preparing accurate budgets, ensuring spending aligns with board-approved plans and OPEX/revenue targets.
- Prepare monthly and quarterly business review reports, MIS, and OPEX reports for Nigeria with precision and timeliness.
- Manage and forecast cash flow, ensuring liquidity and optimal fund utilization.
Commercial Support & Business Partnering:
- Collaborate closely with the Managing Director and business units to provide strategic financial support.
- Enhance visibility into cost accounting, project margin analysis, value chains, and other critical financial metrics.
- Analyze financial data to identify unusual trends and provide actionable insights.
Financial Reporting & Compliance:
- Support the Finance Manager in finalizing financial statements and conducting in-depth analytical reviews.
- Ensure robust financial controls are in place and are functioning effectively.
- Oversee the Order-to-Cash (O2C) cycle, ensuring accurate transaction recording and control implementation.
- Provide visibility into inventory positions through timely management reporting.
- Lead and support accurate and timely month-end, quarter-end, and year-end closing processes.
- Manage and close all statutory, tax, external, and internal audits, addressing audit queries effectively.
- Ensure compliance with local IFRS and US GAAP accounting standards.
Qualifications & Experience
- Qualified Chartered Accountant with strong business acumen.
- Minimum of 5 years of experience in Budgeting, Cost Accounting, and Financial Reporting, preferably in FMCG or similar industries.
- Hands-on experience in MIS reporting, compliance, and commercial finance activities.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Dynamics NAV / Business Central (MBC). Experience with Vena or Tableau is an added advantage.
