Job Title: Sectional Head, Mechanical Department

Job Summary

  • The Sectional Head of the Mechanical Department at Dangote Group will oversee all mechanical operations within the department, ensuring efficient processes and maintenance strategies to support optimal plant performance.
  • This role is essential in leading a skilled team to achieve mechanical excellence while maintaining safety standards and operational targets.

Key Responsibilities

  • Develop and implement mechanical maintenance strategies and plans to maximize equipment uptime and reliability.
  • Lead and manage a team of mechanical engineers and technicians, ensuring competency and performance standards are met.
  • Coordinate the procurement of mechanical parts and oversee vendor relationships to ensure quality and timely delivery.
  • Conduct regular audits and inspections of mechanical systems and processes to enforce compliance with safety and operational standards.
  • Utilize advanced engineering tools for diagnostics and troubleshooting, and implement solutions promptly.

Requirements
Education and Experience:

  • Bachelor’s degree in Mechanical Engineering or a related field.
  • At least 15 years of experience in mechanical engineering, with a minimum of 5 years in a leadership role.
  • Membership in a recognized professional engineering body is advantageous.

Skills and Competencies:

  • Strong knowledge of mechanical systems within industrial settings, preferably cement manufacturing.
  • Proficiency in CAD software and other engineering tools.
  • Excellent project management, planning, and organizational skills.
  • Strong leadership abilities with experience in team management.
  • Good analytical and problem-solving skills.
  • Strong communication and interpersonal skills.
