Job Title: Rigging Supervisor – Offshore Oil & Gas Operations

Job Summary
- We are looking for a skilled and safety-focused Rigging Supervisor to oversee and execute complex offshore lifting and rigging operations for oil and gas projects.
- The ideal candidate will have extensive experience developing rigging plans, supervising offshore lifting operations, and interpreting detailed installation procedures.
- Strong leadership, technical expertise, and an uncompromising approach to safety are essential for this role.
Key Responsibilities
- Lead and supervise all rigging and lifting operations onboard offshore vessels, platforms, or barges, ensuring compliance with project procedures and safety standards.
- Develop and review rigging and lifting plans, including the selection of equipment, configuration of rigging gear, lifting angles, center of gravity calculations, and load path analysis.
- Interpret and execute offshore installation procedures in collaboration with the project engineering and construction teams.
- Coordinate with crane operators, deck foremen, welders, and riggers to safely carry out lifting operations for subsea structures, topside modules, risers, and other equipment.
- Oversee crane and winch operations, ensuring correct line pulls, lift coordination, and communication protocols are followed.
- Supervise or participate in the fabrication and installation of rigging aids, such as pad-eyes, lifting lugs, or temporary supports, ensuring correct welding procedures and inspections are followed.
- Inspect and certify rigging equipment and lifting accessories (e.g., slings, shackles, hooks, spreader bars) for offshore service.
- Ensure proper documentation of rigging plans, lift reports, equipment certifications, and toolbox talks.
- Conduct pre-lift meetings and participate in Job Safety Analysis (JSA), toolbox talks, and Permit to Work (PTW) procedures.
- Mentor rigging crew members and ensure adherence to offshore safety practices and company policies.
- Maintain clear records of daily activities and progress, and provide input to offshore reports and close-out documentation.
Qualifications and Experience
- Trade certification, diploma, or technical qualification in Mechanical, Structural, or Marine discipline is preferred.
- Minimum 5–10 years’ experience in offshore oil & gas rigging and lifting operations, including at least 3 years in a supervisory role.
- In-depth knowledge of offshore rigging standards (e.g., LOLER, IMCA, API RP 2D) and lifting safety regulations.
- Experience in offshore installation projects involving subsea structures, topsides, FPSO modules, or jacket/topsides mating is strongly preferred.
- Skilled in reading and interpreting engineering drawings, lifting plans, and offshore procedures.
- Proven experience in the use and management of cranes, winches, and hydraulic lifting systems in offshore environments.
- Experience in welding operations and the installation of rigging aids (e.g., pad-eyes, doubler plates) under offshore conditions.
- Proficient in Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, Outlook) for documentation and reporting.

- Experience working on offshore projects inWest Africa
- French language proficiency is a plus (but not required)
