Job Title: Rig Superintendent
Location: Port Harcourt, Rivers
Job Type: Contract
Job Description
- Supervise all rig site activities including drilling, well completion, and workover operations.
- Ensure full compliance with the drilling program, including casing, mud, cementing, and logging activities.
- Manage rig crews and service company personnel to maintain high standards of productivity and safety.
- Lead daily operations meetings and safety briefings.
- Promote and enforce adherence to HSE policies, standards, and procedures.
- Conduct risk assessments, incident investigations, and safety audits on site
- Ensure all rig equipment is maintained, inspected, and operated within safety and technical specifications.
- Coordinate with Maintenance Supervisors and third-party contractors to address equipment issues.
Requirements
- BSc or HND in Petroleum Engineering, Mechanical Engineering, or related field
- Minimum of 12 years upstream drilling experience, with at least 5 years in a supervisory role.
- Strong background in drilling operations on land and/or offshore rigs.
- Valid IWCF or IADC Well Control certification.
- Proven ability to lead cross-functional teams in high-risk environments
