Our work focuses on designing and implementing high-impact interventions that promote access to resources, representation, and opportunities for women across various sectors.

As we expand strategic partnerships and programming, the Office of the CEO is seeking a dynamic and detail-oriented Research Assistant to support opportunity mapping, programme design, proposal development, and high-level executive coordination.

We are recruiting to fill the position below:

Job Title: Research Assistant

Location: Ikoyi, Lagos(Hybrid)
Employment Type: Contract
Duration of Contract: One Year
Reporting line: Chief Executive Officer

Role Summary

  • The Research Assistant will provide embedded support to the CEO across high-level strategy, research, proposal development, programme design, board engagement and donor opportunity tracking.
  • This role combines strategic thinking with strong research, writing, and coordination capabilities, and offers a front-row seat to decision-making at the highest level of the organization.

Key Responsibilities
Opportunity Mapping & Donor Research:

  • Identify and track relevant donor, partnership, and funding opportunities aligned with ElectHER’s mission.
  • Maintain a live opportunity tracker with deadlines, eligibility criteria, and thematic focus.
  • Develop short internal briefs on donors, institutions, and relevant events.

Research & Programme Development:

  • Conduct desk research and background analysis to support programme design, strategy development, and policy initiatives across Democracy & Governance, Economic Empowerment, and Peace & Security.
  • Draft internal memos, talking points, and presentation materials for high-level engagements.

Proposal Development Support:

  • Contribute to the development of high-quality proposals, concept notes, and pitch decks.
  • Collaborate with internal teams to gather inputs, indicators, and context-specific data.
  • Draft sections of grant applications such as context analysis, literature reviews, and institutional profiles.

Executive Coordination & Engagement:

  • Track action points and outcomes from CEO-led meetings with donors, partners, and stakeholders.
  • Provide documentation and background materials for external convenings, board meetings, and briefings.
  • Liaise with internal teams to ensure strategic alignment and knowledge sharing.

Required Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s degree in law, Political Science, Public Policy, International Relations, Development Studies, or a related discipline.
  • 2–5 years of relevant experience in research-related roles
  • Strong writing and analytical skills, with the ability to synthesize complex information quickly and clearly.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office, Google Workspace, and research platforms.
  • Strong organizational skills and ability to work independently under tight deadlines.
