Job Description
- This role is responsible to lead the planning, implementation, monitoring, and evaluation of international and indigenous scholarships programs aimed at supporting access to education for deserving and underprivileged students.
- This role ensures efficient project execution, stakeholder engagement, donor reporting, and achievement of scholarship goals for the Abdulkabir Aliu Foundation.
Responsibilities and Accountabilities
Project Management & Implementation:
- Design and manage the implementation of scholarship program activities in line with project goal:s.
- Develop and maintain the scholarship selection criteria and processes.
- Supervise the student application, selection, award, and disbursement processes.
- Maintain accurate records of all scholarship recipients and ensure compliance with donor requirements.
- Coordinate with educational institutions and relevant government agencies.
Monitoring & Evaluation:
- Develop and apply tools to monitor student performance and program impact.
- Regularly collect, analyze, and report data on project performance.
- Conduct field visits and beneficiary feedback sessions.
- Prepare quarterly and annual reports for donors and management.
Financial Oversight:
- Work with the finance team to manage the scholarship budget.
- Ensure transparent and accountable use of scholarship funds.
- Prepare financial forecasts and spending reports for the program.
Stakeholder Engagement:
- Build and maintain strong relationships with educational institutions, communities, donors, and local authorities.
- Organize outreach activities to raise awareness about the scholarship program.
- Respond to inquiries and grievances from applicants and beneficiaries.
Digital & Media Communication:
- Managing or contributing to social media updates, newsletters, and website content related to the program.
- Graphical representation of the projects on website and social media channels of AAF.
Requirements
- Bachelor’s Degree (BA, BSc or BEd) with at least a Second-Class Upper Division.
- A Master’s degree (MBA, MEd, MSc) is an added advantage.
- Minimum of 3 years’ experience managing education-related projects at the national level.
- Experience in managing international and indigenous scholarship programs will be an added advantage.
- Strong attention to detail and commitment to quality and accountability.
- Ability to work independently, manage multiple projects simultaneously, and meet tight deadlines.
- Good communication and reporting skills, both verbal and written.
- Willingness and ability to travel frequently across Nigeria.
