Global Rights was founded in Washington DC, USA in 1978 with the name International Human Rights Law Group and changed its name to Global Rights: Partners for Justice in 2003 at its 25th anniversary.

Key Responsibilities:
Research and Analysis:
- Conduct detailed research into civic space incidents, including restrictions on freedom of expression, assembly, association, and press freedom.
- Compile data and produce reports on trends in civic space repression across targeted regions or countries.
- Monitor relevant local and international news for developments impacting civil society and democratic freedoms.
Content Creation and Advocacy Support:
- Draft blogs, articles, and social media content aimed at raising awareness about human rights infractions and promoting civic space advocacy.
- Assist in creating infographics, newsletters, and other visual materials to support campaigns.
- Collaborate in the preparation of press statements or policy briefs responding to key incidents.
Administrative and Logistical Support:
- Support the coordination of events such as webinars, training sessions, and stakeholder engagements.
- Help maintain databases of civic space incidents and track organizational responses.
- Participate in meetings/trainings and provide minutes, summaries or reports of discussions as needed.
Qualifications:
- Bachelor’s degree in a related field, such as public policy, political science, or law.
- Strong interest in human rights and social justice issues.
- Excellent written and oral communication skills.
- Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
- Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
- Familiarity with the Nigerian political landscape and civil society organizations.
- Strong attention to detail and ability to multitask.
