Program Background:
The Project Manager will be responsible for the overall programming activities including planning, developing, execution, and reporting on the projects he/she is directly assigned to, and supervision of all the other projects and the Field Base office logistics, HR, financial, and overall functioning.
The project’s activities are being carried out in Sokoto State and aim to assist children in IDP and host communities. The project involves identifying and selecting beneficiaries and getting them involved in activities. This includes recruiting qualified volunteers, establishing connections with different stakeholders, and building the capacity of staff, volunteers, and government and community stakeholders.
Overall Objective:
To effectively manage the design and implementation of the Street Aid Initiative for Development (Street Aid) program in Sokoto State, ensuring it meets its objectives and delivers tangible results within the specified timeframe.
Key Responsibilities:
- Program Planning & Management:
- Develop detailed work plans and timelines for program activities in Education, WASH and Protection.
- Manage program budget and ensure efficient utilization of resources.
- Monitor progress against program goals and objectives, identifying and addressing any challenges.
- Prepare regular reports on program activities, achievements, and challenges for stakeholders.
- Stakeholder Engagement:
- Build and maintain strong relationships with key stakeholders, including government agencies, community leaders, beneficiaries, and donors.
- Facilitate communication and collaboration between stakeholders throughout the program cycle.
- Community Mobilization:
- Coordinate outreach activities to raise awareness about the program among the target population in Sokoto State.
- Mobilize and engage street-based individuals in program activities to ensure their active participation.
- Capacity Building & Training on referral pathways and general programming activities:
- Develop and implement capacity-building programs for staff, volunteers, and beneficiaries.
- Organize training workshops on relevant topics to equip beneficiaries with skills and knowledge to achieve self-reliance.
Monitoring & Evaluation:
- Implement a monitoring and evaluation system to track program progress, measure impact, and identify areas for improvement.
- Analyze monitoring data and prepare reports with recommendations for program adjustments.
Contextual Knowledge:
- Utilize your in-depth understanding of the Sokoto State context (socio-economic factors, cultural dynamics, local challenges) to inform the development of a short project activity with a duration of not more than three (3) months, designing the implementation strategies and ensure their effectiveness.
Qualifications:
- Bachelor’s degree in Social Work, Community Development, Public Administration, or a related field.
- Minimum of 2 years of experience in program management, preferably within the development sector.
- Proven experience in working with vulnerable populations, particularly street-based individuals.
- Strong understanding of monitoring and evaluation principles.
- Excellent communication, interpersonal, and organizational skills.
- Fluency in English and Hausa language.
- Demonstrated ability to work independently and as part of a team.
- In-depth knowledge of the socio-economic and cultural context of Sokoto State.
- Duration of Contract: 3 Months (with the possibility of extension based on performance)
