Alliance Agro Investment and Consultancy Services Limited is a private business incorporated under the companies and allied matters Act 1990 regulated by the Cooperate Affairs Commission (CAC) of the Federal Republic of Nigeria, and having its business office at Suit A12, Ummi Plaza, Zoo Road Nasarawa Local Government Area/Municipal, Kano State Nigeria (hereinafter referred to as “Alliagro”) on the other hand.

We are recruiting to fill the position below:

Job Title: Procurement Officer (Consultancy)
Location: Kano
Employment Type: Contract

Job Description

  • The Procurement Officer will be responsible for managing ALLIANCE AGROpurchasing activities, identifying suppliers, negotiating contracts, and ensuring timely delivery of goods.
  • Overseeing and supervising employees and all activities of the purchasing department.
  • Preparing plans for the purchase of equipment, services, and supplies.
  • Following and enforcing ALLIANCE AGRO’s procurement policies and procedures.
  • Reviewing, comparing, analyzing, and approving products and services to be purchased.
  • Managing inventories and maintaining accurate purchase and pricing records.
  • Maintaining and updating supplier information such as qualifications, delivery times, product ranges, etc.
  • Maintaining good supplier relations and negotiating contracts.
  • Researching and evaluating prospective suppliers.
  • Preparing budgets, cost analyses, and reports.

Qualifications
Technical expertise, Skills, Knowledge, and competencies:

  • Proven experience in procurement and supply chain management
  • Bachelor’s Degree or equivalent in Business Administration or related field
  • 3 years experience
  • Excellent negotiation and communication skills
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving abilities
  • Proficiency in procurement software – may be advantageous.
  • Knowledge of sourcing and vendor management
  • Attention to details and organizational skills
  • Knowledge of the Nigerian Procurement Law
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
  • Experience with office management software like MS Office (MS Excel and MS Word, specifically)
  • Good knowledge of Child Safeguarding, PSEA Policies, MHPSS and the concept of Do No Harm, and good at working with children and vulnerable people especial in emergency settings.

  • Understanding your role and responsibilities as well as policies of the organization.
  • Completing tasks assigned by the Management, or line manager.
  • Keeping internal information confidential
  • Willing to learn and participate in meeting and training programs.
  • A willingness to work as part of a team.
  • A high degree of professionalism and the ability to follow instructions.
  • Good organizational skills.
  • Strong planning, organizational and interpersonal skills.
