Job Summary

  • The Porter plays a key role in creating a positive first and last impression for hotel guests.
  • You will assist with luggage, escort guests, and offer support across departments to ensure smooth day-to-day operations.
  • Your welcoming attitude and attention to guests’ needs contribute to the hotel’s reputation for exceptional service.

Key Responsibilities

  • Greet guests warmly upon arrival and assist with luggage to and from guest rooms
  • Escort guests to rooms and explain room features, amenities, and hotel services
  • Handle guest requests promptly and courteously (e.g., calling taxis, delivering items)
  • Maintain cleanliness and order in the lobby, entrance, and guest-facing areas
  • Assist with valet parking (if applicable) or directing guests to parking areas
  • Support front office operations with deliveries, messages, and guest errands
  • Provide directions, local area information, and recommendations when needed
  • Assist housekeeping with moving linen, supplies, or trolleys as requested
  • Respond to guest complaints or requests and escalate when necessary
  • Report safety or maintenance issues promptly to the appropriate department
  • Maintain a professional, polite, and service-oriented demeanor at all times

Requirements

  • Previous experience in a hospitality or customer service role is an advantage
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
  • Smart and professional appearance
  • Physically fit and able to lift and carry luggage, stand, and walk for long periods
  • Friendly, helpful, and proactive attitude
  • Ability to work flexible shifts, including weekends and holidays
  • Good knowledge of the local area, attractions, and transport routes
  • Basic knowledge of front desk operations is a plus.
