Responsibilties
- Develop and deliver well-structured, engaging lessons aligned with the curriculum.
- Prepare teaching materials and resources to enhance learning outcomes.
- Monitor, assess, and report on students’ academic and behavioural progress.
- Create a safe, respectful, and inclusive classroom culture conducive to learning.
- Identify and support students with different learning needs or challenges.
- Collaborate with colleagues, parents, and the wider school community.
- Participate in departmental meetings, training, and continuous professional development.
- Maintain accurate records of student attendance, performance, and behaviour.
- Enforce school policies, values, and behavioural expectations consistently.
- Promote the development of 21st-century skills such as critical thinking, collaboration, and communication.
- Incorporate technology and innovative methods into teaching practices.
- Prepare students for internal and external assessments or examinations.
- Participate in extracurricular activities, school events, and parent-teacher meetings.
Qualifications & Experience
- A minimum of a Bachelor’s Degree in Education or a related field.
- A teaching qualification and certification (e.g. PGDE, TRCN, QTS).
- Proven teaching experience in a classroom setting (at least 1 – 2 years preferred).
- Knowledge of national and/or international curricula (e.g. British, Nigerian, IB, etc.).
