We are recruiting to fill the position below:

Job Title: Packaging Machine Operator

Location: Magboro, Ogun
Employment Type: Full-time

Job Purpose

  • To ensure Filling & Packaging line machines operations in accordance with specified/ recommended guidelines and agreed Standard Operating Procedures.
  • This is to enable delivery of target production volumes within specified Time, with optimized resource and at the right Quality.

Duties / Responsibilities

  • Understand quality and HSE standards in the chemical packaging line
  • Should have considerable experience in running liquid filling & packaging line machines/equipment
  • He/she should be able to set-up machines, initiate calibration, cleaning, start-up procedures, as well deliver a seamless run.
  • Run the chemical packaging line effectively
  • Clear understanding of AM/TPM in reducing unplanned stops and downtime.
  • Inspect parts with precision and measuring tools
  • Fix minor issues/ jams that might occur during the shift and work with the technical team in resolving major issues.
  • Compile production and activity logs as well as analyse trends.
  • Be a champion of Safety for self, others, equipment, and general workplace.
  • Must be able to synergize with other unit’s functions to achieve set goals.
  • Elimination/Reduction of downtime due to machine break down
  • Good knowledge of how to identify areas for improvement (Process, skills, knowledge, attitude, machine etc)
  • To work closely as a team with other shift-based leaders to prioritise shift activity and deliver plant target
  • Full understanding and implementation of GMP standards on the shopfloor.
  • Must be able to work with minimum supervision.

Education and Experience

  • HND in Electrical Engineering, Mechanical Engineering or related sciences.
  • 2-4 years experience in a similar role.

Required Skills / Abilities:

  • Good oral and written communication skills.
  • Good teaming skills.
  • Baseline problem analysis and solving skills.
  • Creativity and ability to think out of the box.
  • Proficiency in the use of office productivity tools.
  • Knowledge of gravity & pneumatic filling systems, & gassing operations.
  • Knowledge of Capping and Shrink-wrapping packaging machines is an added advantage.
  • Should have basic electrical/ mechanical knowledge and troubleshooting.
  • Structured Problem solving skills.
  • Working knowledge of diverse high-speed machinery and measurement tools (caliper, micrometre etc.)
  • Understanding of production procedures
  • Adherence to health and safety regulations (e.g., constant use of PPEs)
  • Ability to read blueprints, schematics, and manuals.
