Job Description

  • We are seeking a skilled and compassionate Auxiliary Nurse to join our retail pharmacy team.
  • The ideal candidate will assist customers with basic healthcare needs, provide first aid when necessary, and support the pharmacist in ensuring smooth daily operations.
  • This role is ideal for someone with a passion for healthcare and excellent interpersonal skills.

Key Responsibilities

  • Provide first aid and attend to minor health complaints in the pharmacy.
  • Assist customers with inquiries about over-the-counter (OTC) medications and health products.
  • Measure and record vital signs such as blood pressure, temperature, and blood sugar levels for walk-in customers.
  • Offer basic health advice and refer customers to the pharmacist for further consultation.
  • Maintain accurate records of services provided (e.g., blood pressure checks, first aid).
  • Support the pharmacist in dispensing medications and organizing the dispensary.
  • Ensure proper sterilization and cleanliness of medical equipment and pharmacy space.
  • Provide support in managing inventory by ensuring medical supplies are stocked and stored appropriately.
  • Assist with health screenings and awareness campaigns conducted by the pharmacy.

Requirements

  • Certification as an Auxiliary Nurse or equivalent qualification.
  • Experience in a retail pharmacy or healthcare setting is an advantage.
  • Excellent communication and customer service skills.
  • Ability to provide compassionate and professional care to customers.
  • Basic computer skills for record-keeping and sales support.
  • Attention to detail and ability to work in a fast-paced environment.
