Job Title: Non-Communicable Disease (NCD) Activity Manager

Location: Maiduguri, Borno
Employment Type: Full-time
Reporting to: Medical Coordinator
Line Manager: Medical Doctors, Counsellors and CHEWs

Job Summary

  • The Non-Communicable Disease Activity manager will be responsible for leading, supervising, and monitoring the Integration of NCD-MH in the primary health package being implemented by the INTERSOS Health Team with the aim of attaining delivery of high-quality medical care for patients, as well as vastly improving the health condition of the target population.

Responsibilities

  • Screening/patient identification, Initial/follow up consultation, prescriptions, and if needed referral.
  • Patient’s education, adherence to treatment, defaulter tracing system.
  • Record keeping, data- encoding while respecting confidentiality.
  • Lead the implementation of the NCD integration in the different HFs where INTERSOS is supporting PHC, according to the standard programmatic guidance and monitoring tools.
  • Ensure that staff have clearly defined objectives and understand their responsibilities.
  • Provision of technical and organizational to the health project staff.
  • Ensures training and active on the job supervision as well as clinical mentorship to the medical team in all locations with regards to NCD activities in place.
  • Ensure all staff understand and implement NCD-MH program guidelines and protocols as per programmatic guidance and annexes.
  • Ensure respect of INTERSOS and national protocols and guidelines by all members of the medical team and supervise provision of medical care to the program population according to updated MoH protocols and programmatic guidance.
  • Provides technical and organizational support and training to the NCD-MH project staff.
  • Report to the Medical Coordinator on progresses and challenges in the NCD integration process.
  • Ensures the monitoring tools for NCD are well known (NCD-MH database, monthly data sheet) by all medical staff.
  • Ensure data are compiled correctly and shared with the medical coordinator in a timely fashion for proper reporting.
  • Provide training and supervision on data collection.
  • Collaborate in monitoring of current activities and availability of needed materials
  • Assist in NCD-MH data collection.
  • Prepare the Weekly/Monthly data compilation and reporting according to the agreed templates (monthly/quarterly template as well as the NCD database and monthly data sheet).
  • Preparation and submission of NCD training reporting.
  • Preparation and submission of NCD weekly Activity reporting.
  • Ensure that staff have clearly defined objectives and understand their responsibilities
  • Provision of technical; and organizational support and training to the NCD-MH project staff
  • Ensure all staff understand and implement NCD-MH program guidelines and protocols.

Professional requirements

  • Bachelor’s university degree in either medicine, public health, or any related field.
  • 5 (five) years of relevant professional work experience in public health with Background/familiarity with Emergency.
  • Possession of a valid practicing certificate.

Personal requirements:

  • Essential computer literacy (word, excel, and internet)
  • Leadership, people management and development, teamwork and cooperation, and service orientation.
  • Understanding of humanitarian operations principles, standards, and best practices
  • Manages effectively his/her own time as well as flexible and available to work overtime when needed
  • Good command of written and spoken English, Local spoken Language is an asset.
  • Excellent interpersonal and team-building skills and excellence as a team player
  • Analytical and reporting skills
  • Respect and adherence to protection principles
  • Honesty and integrity and ability to cope with stressful situations.
