Job Title: Modern Trade Manager

Job Description

  • We are seeking a skilled Modern Trade Manager to drive growth and manage relationships with key accounts, supermarkets, and retail chains.
  • The ideal candidate will have a strong understanding of modern trade dynamics, excellent negotiation skills, and a proven track record in achieving sales targets in the FMCG sector.

Key Responsibilities
Account Management:

  • Build and maintain strong relationships with key modern trade partners (e.g., supermarkets, hypermarkets, convenience stores).
  • Negotiate favorable terms, contracts, and promotional activities to maximize shelf space and visibility.

Sales and Revenue Growth:

  • Develop and execute sales strategies to achieve revenue targets for modern trade channels.
  • Monitor and analyze sales data, market trends, and competitor activities to identify opportunities.

Promotions and Merchandising:

  • Collaborate with the marketing team to implement effective in-store promotions and branding activities.
  • Ensure proper placement, display, and inventory levels of Graceco products in stores.

Team Collaboration:

  • Work closely with the sales team to ensure seamless execution of trade initiatives.
  • Provide training and guidance to field sales representatives to achieve modern trade objectives.

Reporting and Analytics:

  • Prepare regular sales and performance reports for management review.
  • Evaluate the effectiveness of sales strategies and recommend improvements.

Requirements

  • Bachelor’s Degree in Business Administration, Marketing, or related field.
  • Minimum of 7 years of experience in FMCG sales, with at least 5years in modern trade management.
  • Strong negotiation and relationship-building skills.
  • Excellent analytical and problem-solving abilities.
  • Proficiency in MS Office and CRM software.
  • Knowledge of the Nigerian FMCG market is a must.
