Job Title: Merchandiser

Locations: Victoria Island, Lekki & Festac – Lagos
Employment Type: Full-time
Reports to: Senior Merchandiser or Buying Manager
Resumption: Immediately

Job Summary

  • Responsible for developing and implementing merchandising strategies to drive sales, profitability, and customer satisfaction. Analyze market trends, customer behavior, and sales data to inform product assortment, pricing, and promotion decisions.

Key Responsibilities

  • Product Assortment: Develop and maintain product assortments that meet customer needs, drive sales, and achieve profit goals.
  • Pricing and Promotion: Determine pricing strategies and develop promotional plans to drive sales, increase customer engagement, and maintain market competitiveness.
  • Sales Analysis: Analyze sales data, market trends, and customer behavior to identify opportunities, challenges, and areas for improvement.
  • Vendor Management: Collaborate with vendors to negotiate prices, delivery terms, and product development.
  • Inventory Management: Manage inventory levels, monitor stock levels, and optimize inventory turnover.
  • Visual Merchandising: Develop and implement visual merchandising strategies to create an engaging shopping experience.
  • Collaboration: Work closely with cross-functional teams, including buying, marketing, and sales.

Education and Qualifications

  • ND, HND or Bachelor’s Degree in a relevant field, such as Business, Marketing, or Fashion.
  • Relevant Experience: 2+ years of experience in merchandising, buying, or a related field.

  • Analytical Skills: Strong analytical skills to analyze sales data, market trends, and customer behavior.
  • Communication Skills: Excellent communication skills to collaborate with vendors, colleagues, and customers.
  • Negotiation Skills: Effective negotiation skills to secure favorable prices, delivery terms, and product development.
  • Problem-Solving Skills: Strong problem-solving skills to identify opportunities, challenges, and areas for improvement.
  • Industry Knowledge: Knowledge of the retail industry, market trends, and customer behavior.

Working Conditions:

  • Office Environment: Work in a retail environment, with occasional travel to stores, trade shows, or vendor meetings.
  • Flexible Hours: Flexible hours, including evenings and weekends, may be required during peak periods.
