Job Title: Medical Laboratory Scientist
Location: Lagos, Nigeria
About the Job
- We are seeking for an experienced candidate who will be responsible for performing a wide range of diagnostic tests critical to the evaluation and treatment of cardiovascular conditions.
- You will ensure the accuracy, efficiency, and reliability of laboratory results in compliance with established standards and regulatory guidelines.
Key Responsibilities
- Conduct routine and specialized test.
- Operate and maintain advanced laboratory equipment and ensure proper calibration and quality control procedures are followed.
- Analyze, interpret, and validate test results to ensure timely delivery to physicians and consultants.
- Maintain accurate documentation and patient records within the Laboratory Information System (LIS).
- Ensure compliance with safety protocols, infection control, and standard laboratory practices.
- Participate in internal quality assurance programs and external proficiency testing.
- Collaborate with cardiologists and medical staff to support accurate clinical diagnoses and treatment plans.
Requirements & Qualifications
- Bachelor’s Degree in Medical Laboratory Science from a recognized institution.
- Valid practicing license from the Medical Laboratory Science Council of Nigeria (MLSCN).
- Minimum of 1-3 years post-NYSC experience in a hospital laboratory (experience in a cardiac or specialist hospital is an advantage).
- Proficiency in hematology, clinical chemistry, and immunoassay techniques.
- Familiarity with modern laboratory technologies and LIS systems.
- Strong attention to detail, analytical thinking, and excellent communication skills.
