Lindii Peace Foundation (LPF) is a nonprofit non-governmental national organization established in Nigeria in July 2014 with the aim to improve the lives of people through effective and efficient humanitarian and developmental assistance in communities where such supports are essentially necessary within Nigeria. Through international and national networking, LPF provided humanitarian and developmental assistance to individuals, families, schools, Health facilities, and communities in more than twelve (12) states within Nigeria regardless of their ethnicity, political and religious affiliation. LPF fundamentally intervenes in multi-sectoral humanitarian activities majoring in Protection, Health, Food Security & Livelihood, Education, Nutrition, Water Sanitation and Hygiene (WASH) interventions, and other Cross-Sectoral areas.

We are recruiting to fill the position below:

Job Title: Medical Doctor

Location: Monguno, Borno
Employment Type: Contract
Duration: 5 Months full-time

Duty Description

  • The Medical Doctor (Licensed) will be an integral member of the health team, directly contributing to the delivery of high-quality medical services in field locations.
  • He/she will provide clinical care, support health program implementation, and ensure that patient care meets organizational and national standards.
  • The role requires close collaboration with multidisciplinary teams to identify health needs, respond to medical challenges, and ensure effective service delivery in supported communities.
  • The role is ideal for a medical professional who is passionate about making a tangible impact in the humanitarian settings and is adaptable to dynamic field environments.

Key Responsibilities
Clinical Care & Case Management:

  • Provide high-quality medical care and treatment to patients in accordance with national and international standards and LPF protocols.
  • Diagnose, treat, and manage acute and chronic illnesses in the Health Facility at Monguno.
  • Ensure rational prescription and proper use of medicines and medical supplies.
  • Oversee infection prevention and control measures at the health facility and during outreach activities.
  • Refer patients needing specialized care in accordance with established referral pathways.

Program Support and Coordination:

  • Participate in health assessments, outreach, and mobile clinic activities as required.
  • Collaborate with LPF’s multi-sectoral teams (Nutrition, WASH, Protection, etc.) to ensure integrated service delivery.
  • Support health education and community sensitization on key health issues.

Reporting and Quality Assurance:

  • Maintain accurate and confidential patient records and reports.
  • Contribute to periodic project reports, data collection, and analysis for program improvement.
  • Participate in internal and external meetings, trainings, and capacity-building sessions as required.

Accountability and Safeguarding:

  • Uphold LPF’s values, humanitarian principles, and safeguarding standards.
  • Ensure patient confidentiality and ethical medical practice at all times.

Required Qualifications and Experience

  • Minimum of a Bachelor of Medicine, Bachelor of Surgery (MBBS) or equivalent medical degree from a recognized institution.
  • Valid and current license to practice medicine in Nigeria.
  • Minimum of 3 years’ post-qualification experience, preferably with at least 1 year in a humanitarian or NGO setting.
  • Experience in primary healthcare, emergency response, or public health is highly desirable.
  • Proven ability to work effectively in resource-limited, high-stress, and culturally diverse environments.

Skills and Competencies:

  • Excellent clinical and diagnostic skills.
  • Strong communication, interpersonal, and teamwork abilities.
  • Proficient in Microsoft Office Suite (Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Access).
  • Experience in quantitative and qualitative data collection and reporting.
  • Problem-solving and analytical thinking.
  • Ability to work under pressure and meet tight deadlines.
  • Fluent in English and at least one local language (Hausa or Kanuri).
