Centre for Community Development and Research Network (CCDRN) is a local Non-governmental organization (NGO) in Nigeria with its head office in Kaduna. CCDRN partners with communities, philanthropists, government and donors to provide sustainable community development services in the areas of conflict resolution, peace building, economic empowerment, agriculture, health, education as well as governance. With funding from humanitarian donors for programs to engage in several interventions including but not limited to food assistance, livelihoods, cash transfers and capacity building of humanitarian response actors.
We are recruiting to fill the position below:
Job Title: MEAL Director
Location: Kaduna North, Kaduna
Employment Type: Full-time
Job Purpose
- The Meal Director will provide strategic leadership and oversight to the development and implementation of Monitoring, Evaluation, Accountability, and Learning (MEAL) systems across CCDRN programs.
- The Meal Director will ensure that MEAL systems are functional, effective, and efficient, and that they provide timely and accurate data to inform program decision-making.
Key Responsibilities
Strategic Leadership:
- Develop and implement the CCDRN MEAL framework, aligning with organizational quality standards and MEAL policies, procedures, and best practices.
- Provide strategic guidance on MEAL to program teams, ensuring that MEAL systems are integrated into program design and implementation.
Monitoring and Evaluation:
- Design and implement monitoring and evaluation plans, including the development of indicators, targets, and benchmarks, using a results-based management approach.
- Conduct regular monitoring visits to project sites to collect data and identify areas for improvement, using a participatory and inclusive approach.
- Analyze and interpret data, identifying trends, patterns, and areas for improvement, and providing actionable recommendations for program improvement.
Accountability:
- Ensure that accountability mechanisms are functional and effective, including the establishment of a complaint response mechanism, using a participatory and inclusive approach.
- Develop and implement a feedback and complaint response system, including the collection and analysis of feedback from program beneficiaries, using a feedback loop approach.
- Ensure that program staff and partners are aware of and adhere to accountability policies and procedures, using a training and capacity building approach.
Learning:
- Identify and document lessons learned from programs, including successes, challenges, and areas for improvement, using a reflective and adaptive approach.
- Develop and implement a knowledge management system, including the collection and dissemination of best practices and lessons learned, using a knowledge sharing platform.
- Facilitate reflection and learning among program staff and partners, including the organization of workshops and training sessions, using a collaborative and participatory approach.
Reporting:
- Prepare and submit regular reports to the Executive Director and program stakeholders, including monitoring reports, evaluation reports, and accountability reports, using a clear and concise reporting style.
- Ensure that reports are accurate, timely, and informative, and that they provide actionable recommendations for program improvement, using a results-based management approach.
Team Management:
- Supervise and mentor the MEAL team, enhancing their capacity to execute MEAL activities effectively.
- Provide technical assistance and capacity strengthening activities for program staff and partners to improve program quality and impact.
Other Responsibilities:
- Perform any other duties as assigned by the Executive Director or program management team, including providing support to other program components and initiatives, using a flexible and adaptive approach.
- Collaborate with program stakeholders to ensure that MEAL systems are aligned with program goals and objectives, using a collaborative and participatory approach.
Required Skills and Experience
- Master’s degree in Statistics, Demography, Social Sciences, or a closely related field.
- At least 7 years of experience in monitoring and evaluation, program management, and conducting program evaluations using both qualitative and quantitative methods.
- Strong strategic, analytical, and systems thinking capabilities, with a knack for problem-solving and decision-making.
- Proficiency in data management and analysis, with experience using MS Access, GIS applications, and Tableau.
- Experience in a humanitarian, peacebuilding, and development context is an added advantage.
