Job Title: MEAL – Data Assistant

Key Responsibilities
Data collection tools and storage:
- Ensure all received aggregated data is accurately entered into OTL databases in a timely manner.
- Ensure all data collected are verified, validated, and stored appropriately according to IRC policies.
- Support the development of data collection tools for digital data collections.
- Train program staff, Learning facilitators and research assistants on the data collection tools.
- Conduct routine data collection exercise across project locations.
- Ensure regular update and usage of OTL databases.
- Participate in project Data Quality Audits, project surveys such as; EGRA, EGMA, ASER and TARL
- Support the standardization and consistent use of data collection tools.
- Ensure that beneficiaries/clients are fully sensitized on client responsive channels (Accountability mechanisms) for reporting.
Data analysis and reporting:
- Perform routine analysis of data collected to ensure efficient and effective reporting.
- Ensure data collected are thoroughly reviewed, verified and reliable for reporting.
- Ensure the appropriate reporting of field level data that is responsive and align to project indicators.
- Ensure proper tracking of project indicators, particularly recording and reporting data according to USAID data segregation label.
Monitoring and Evaluation:
- Conduct routine monitoring visits to project locations, particularly learning centers.
- Support the conduct of the Teacher Classroom Observation (TCO) across project sites.
- Support the MEAL Officer in conduct the periodic evaluations such as DQA, baseline, midline and endline assessments.
- Provide technical support and oversight to research assistants and learning facilitators.
Perform other duties assigned by the supervisor:
- Perform other task-related assignments proposed by his/her supervisor/s

- Program Lead, Reporting and Communication Lead, Consortium Leads, State, Education Officers

- Teacher Mentors, Learning Facilitators, Enumerators, Data hub information officers, and consortium partners.
Qualifications
- Education: Degree / Diploma in Statistics, Computer Science / IT / or any other Social Science course
- Work Experience: At least 1 year experience in delivering monitoring and evaluation activities including data collection, management and reporting etc.
Demonstrated Technical Skills:
- Demonstrated the use of ICT4D such as Kobo collect, Ona, Commcare etc.
- Demonstrated report writing skill, facilitation, and communication skills.
- Strong data collection, and data documentation skills required.
- Familiarity with MEL tools and processes.
- Experience in supporting assessment.
- Most importantly, commitment to IRC values and principles.
- A strong team player with excellent interpersonal skills and the ability to work with groups of diverse backgrounds.
