Job Description
- The suitable candidate will be responsible for teaching and inspiring students in mathematical concepts, problem-solving, and critical thinking, following the Cambridge curriculum.
- The role involves creating engaging lesson plans, assessing student progress, and fostering a love of mathematics, with a focus on preparing students for Checkpoint, IGCSE, and SAT examinations.
Key Responsibilities
- Lesson Planning: Develop and deliver engaging lesson plans that cater to diverse learning styles and abilities, aligned with the Cambridge curriculum.
- Teaching and Instruction: Teach mathematical concepts, problem-solving, and critical thinking skills to students.
- Assessment and Feedback: Assess student progress, provide constructive feedback, and report on student achievement, including preparation for Checkpoint, IGCSE, and SAT examinations.
- Classroom Management: Maintain a positive, inclusive, and respectful classroom environment that encourages active participation and learning.
- Problem-Solving Skills: Encourage students to develop problem-solving skills, logical reasoning, and analytical thinking.
- Examination Preparation: Prepare students for Checkpoint, IGCSE, and SAT examinations, providing targeted support and guidance.
- Parent Communication: Communicate with parents/guardians about student progress, behaviour, and achievements.
Requirements
- Candidates should possess a Bachelor’s Degree in Mathematics, Education, or related field with 3-15 years experience.
- Teaching certification/qualification (e.g., PGDE, B.Ed.)
- Strong knowledge of mathematical concepts and the Cambridge curriculum
- Evidence of successfully preparing students for Checkpoint, IGCSE, and SAT examinations
- Excellent communication, interpersonal, and organizational skills
- Ability to work with diverse student populations and abilities
- Patience, empathy, and creativity in teaching and learning
Preferred Qualifications:
- Experience teaching the Cambridge curriculum
- Familiarity with examination board requirements and standards
- Track record of student success in Checkpoint, IGCSE, and SAT examinations
Salary
N150,000 – N170,000 / Month.
