Job Title: Manufacturing Head (Food Processing)

Job Summary
- Our client is seeking an experienced Manufacturing Head to lead and oversee the entire food processing operations.
- The ideal candidate will be responsible for production planning, quality control, process optimization, cost efficiency, and compliance with food safety regulations.
- This role requires strong leadership, technical expertise in food manufacturing, and a focus on continuous improvement.
Key Responsibilities
Manufacturing & Production Management
- Oversee end-to-end manufacturing operations, ensuring efficiency, productivity, and quality standards.
- Develop and implement production plans to meet market demand and optimize resource utilization.
- Drive automation, process improvements, and lean manufacturing practices.
- Monitor raw material usage, waste management, and cost reduction initiatives.
Quality Assurance & Food Safety Compliance
- Ensure strict adherence to food safety standards (HACCP, GMP, ISO 22000, FDA, etc.).
- Work closely with the quality control team to maintain product consistency and regulatory compliance.
- Implement traceability systems for raw materials and finished goods.
- Lead audits and inspections from regulatory bodies and customers.
Equipment & Plant Maintenance
- Oversee maintenance schedules and troubleshoot food processing machinery and utilities.
- Ensure minimal downtime by implementing preventive and predictive maintenance programs.
- Evaluate and recommend new technologies and automation for operational efficiency.
Supply Chain & Inventory Management
- Coordinate with procurement, warehousing, and logistics teams to ensure timely availability of raw materials.
- Optimize inventory levels to balance cost efficiency and production demands.
- Manage relationships with suppliers, vendors, and packaging material providers.
Cost & Budget Management
- Develop and manage manufacturing budgets, cost controls, and operational expenditures.
- Identify cost-saving opportunities without compromising product quality and safety.
- Work with finance teams to analyze production costs and profitability metrics.
Team Leadership & Workforce Management
- Lead, train, and mentor a team of production managers, supervisors, and plant workers.
- Foster a culture of teamwork, safety, and continuous improvement.
- Implement training programs for skill development and compliance awareness.
Sustainability & Environmental Compliance
- Ensure adherence to environmental regulations in waste disposal, energy consumption, and sustainability initiatives.
- Drive green manufacturing practices to reduce the carbon footprint and improve efficiency.
Qualifications & Skills
- Bachelor’s or Master’s Degree in Food Technology, Mechanical Engineering, Industrial Engineering, or related fields.
- Experience in Man Management, Machine Management and Material Management is essential.
- Minimum 10-15 years of experience in a mid/large Food industry, preferably FMCG food production, with at least 5 years in a leadership role.
- Strong knowledge of food safety regulations, quality management systems, and lean manufacturing.
- Experience with factory automation, process optimization, and cost control.
- Excellent leadership, problem-solving, and decision-making skills.
- Strong understanding of supply chain, procurement, and inventory management in the food industry.
- Proficiency in ERP systems (SAP, Oracle, Microsoft Dynamics, etc.).
Preferred Certifications:
- HACCP, ISO 22000, Six Sigma, Lean Manufacturing, GMP certification.
