Gavi, the Vaccine Alliance is a public-private partnership committed to saving children’s lives and protecting people’s health by increasing equitable use of vaccines in lower-income countries. THE ROLE

Please note this is a temporary role, until 31st December 2025.

This role will support in the project management and implementation of the Advancing Health Online initiative (AHO) and other cross-team digital demand initiatives at GAVI. The role will coordinate closely with other colleagues in EIP, HSIS, other internal teams and partners, to implement a coherent approach to scale-up and use digital health information tools for improving vaccine confidence in immunisation, under the guidance of technical leads.

MAIN DUTIES/RESPONSIBILITIES

• Under the technical direction of the Senior Manager, Digital Health Information Systems and Senior Manager, Demand Generation and Community Engagement, oversee the operationalisation /implementation of the Advancing Health Online initiative (AHO) as a flagship programme for Gavi, in selected countries;
• Act as a key interface between HSIS, Resource Mobilisation & Growth and Communications teams to ensure an aligned approach in AHO/digital demand for immunisation and develop and implement relevant partnerships;
• Develop and disseminate briefings, guidelines and documents related to AHO implementation and other digital demand interventions globally, at the country level and within the secretariat;
• Manage the implementation of the Monitoring Evaluation and Learning (MEL) framework on AHO and other digital interventions, as required;
• Collaborate effectively with Alliance and Expanded partners, AHO Secretariat, and private sector to achieve rapid results;
• Ensure smooth implementation, robust monitoring and synthesised learning of AHO/digital demand interventions implemented in Gavi-supported countries, under the technical guidance of the Senior Manager, Digital Health Information Systems and the Senior Manager, Demand Generation &Community Engagement;
• Support the Senior Manager, Digital Health Information to coordinate DHI investments and DHI strategy MEL plan implementation related to demand and community engagement;
• Facilitate the implementation of user engagement strategies, leveraging technology and country-specific insights to optimize feedback mechanisms, improve and sustain vaccine acceptance and demand;
• Support analysis of vaccination trends, user engagement, and feedback to assess the effectiveness of digital demand strategies and inform data-driven improvements;
• Facilitate capacity building on digital community engagement and vaccination promotion tools and platforms within the alliance and for target populations;
• Support digital demand work as required.

QUALIFICATIONS

ACADEMIC

• Bachelor’s degree in a relevant field such as Public Health, Health Promotion, Health Informatics, or Digital Marketing is required;
• Master’s degree or professional certifications in relevant areas such as Digital Marketing, or Project Management would be an advantage.

WORK EXPERIENCE

• At least 5 years’ experience in the development and implementation of digital strategies for health programmes;
• At least 3 years’ experience working closely with government health agencies to scale up and ensure digital interventions align with public health priorities and policies;
• Track record of successfully designing and implementing health promotion or community engagement interventions required;
• Expertise in data analysis, monitoring, and evaluation of digital health initiatives required;
• Experience in donor relations and multi-stakeholder management required;
• Demonstrated ability to lead complex projects required;
• Excellent project management skills and experience in implementation of digital health interventions, preferably in Gavi supported countries an asset;
• Familiarity with digital marketing and social media strategies desirable;
• Experience working in multiple countries/international environment an asset;
• Experience working in Gavi countries is highly desirable.

SKILLS/COMPETENCIES

• Excellent organisational skills with the ability to manage multiple tasks and priorities;
• Proficient in MS Office Suite (Word, Excel, PowerPoint) and demonstrated proficiency in data analytics, interpretation, and visualisation, especially in the context of immunisation programme data;
• Excellent written, verbal communication and interpersonal skills, including the ability to translate technical information into understandable terms for non-technical stakeholders;
• Proven ability to lead multi-stakeholder projects and collaboration across complex organisations, including planning, execution, monitoring, and evaluation, with the ability to manage multiple tasks and priorities;
• Strong knowledge of immunisation programmes, with demonstrated experience in implementing digital health solutions;
• Detail-oriented with a high level of accuracy in work;
• Ability to maintain confidentiality and handle sensitive information;
• High performer with a proven track record of operating in a high-pressure environment with tight timelines;
• Technology savvy, with mastery of social media tools management and use;
• Ability to make decisions and operate independently, as well as judgement to know when to seek guidance;
• Ability to multitask, tracking and managing many active priorities in parallel;
• Very highly organised and structured, good planner, with a high level of attention to detail.

• Fluent English is required.
• Additional languages an asset.
