Job Title: Logistics Coordinator
Location: Maiduguri, Borno
Employment Type: Full-time
Role and Responsibilities
- The purpose of a Logistics Coordinator is to implement delegated area of logistics responsibility and deliver a variety of related activities, including compliance; capacity building of staff; procurement planning; market assessment/survey; high value procurement; management of warehouse; fleet; assets; securing supporting documentation/archiving; reporting and coordination.
Generic Responsibilities:
- Ensure adherence to NRC policies, handbooks, guidelines, SOP’s and donor requirements/compliance.
- Coordinate timely operational planning and management of logistics activities.
- Ensure that country specific SOP’s regulate procedures at Area Office level and perform periodic checks.
- Coordinate market assessment/survey within the scope and request of programme/project developers
- Prepare and submit reports and analysis.
- Support line managers in procedures and require support team trainings related to logistics.
- Provide anti-corruption, transparency and cost efficiency focus on all processes (e.g. in procurement, vehicle management, asset management)
- Ensure proper filing of all support documents.
- Perform other duties, as assigned by Line Manager
Specific Responsibilities:
- To implement organisational Global Logistics Handbook procedures and ensure compliance with donors and organisational policies
- To support in the development of the Country Logistics SOPs and their implementation
- Ensure all agreement and contracts are either extended or re-tendered in time; and to timely process the newly requested tenders based on the tender time plan.
- Participate on all relevant meetings ensuring proper communication and coordination with other departments; and support in providing technical information where relevant
- To support in preparation of Project Procurement Plans and consolidation and reviewing of the Country Procurement Plan.
- To ensure that stock reports and documentation are accurate, updated regularly and conduct spot checks
- Ensure all NRC Nigeria vehicles and generators reports are accurate and analysis of usage is conducted on a monthly basis.
- To ensure Agresso Asset Register and Inventory list are accurate and conduct reconciliatitions on a quaterly basis. Participate on the mid-year asset and warehouse physical/verification within the AO’s.
- Provide monthly reports on all logistics activities and ensure logistics KPI’s are achieved, report posted on a timely manner on O365 for Logistics Managers/designated review.
- Contribute to the identification of opportunities to implement cash-based interventions and market-based programmes by participating in assessments and response analysis discussions.
- To undertake any other duties as signed by the line manager
- Ensure capacity build the team in CO and AO logistics teams
- Handle complex and high value tenders and ensure that they are compliance to NRC and donor procurement and financial guidelines.
- Actively participate in market assessment/surveys, due diligence and vendor rating exercises.
- Ensure Procurement Tracker and Contract Follow up sheet are accurate and updated prior to being shared as the updates with all staff.
- Consolidate quarterly reports on the performance of suppliers and service providers and highlight supplier with poor performance.
Qualifications
Context / Specific Skills, Knowledge and Experience:
- Bachelor’s Degree and specialization in Logistics and/or Supply Chain Management, preferably professional qualifications such as CIPS L4 or higher, APICS Certification (CSCP, CLTD, CTS, CPIM).
- Minimum of 5 years experience in Supply Chain Management at a senior level preferably within a humanitarian context.
- Good working knowledge of international supply chain operation
- Experience and knowledge of key institutional donor’s procurement rules and regulations.
- Proven management experience, including training and capacity building of national staff.
- Strong interpersonal and communication skills.
- A high level of computer literacy.
- Fluency in English both written and verbal.

- Experience from working within technical expertise area in a humanitarian/ recovery context.
- Previous experience from working in complex and volatile contexts.
- Documented results related to the position’s responsibilities.
- Knowledge about own leadership skills/profile.
